I am an Island Girl,
Tamil baby born and raised,
Brought up in sunlight and palm trees,
The warm relays descend on me,
Giving me a golden halo.

I am a City Girl,
Skyscrapers tower over me like gods,
I crane my neck to get a glimpse of them,
All cultures are exposed to me,
Whether it be through food, music, or the people themselves.

I am a Country Girl,
I lay my back against an oak tree,
Hear the heart beat pounding through the bark,
The shine of the now visible stars,
Lighting up my irises.

No matter where I am,
No matter who I'll be,
Just remember that I will still be me!
