NOTE
You don't gotta remember this all now, I advise you just skim through it and refer back to this whenever a topic is mentioned. As my main characters are Fey in the Fey realm, they won't be unaware of how things work so they won't be mentioned that much. This is here just incase you don't understand.

The Fae aren't like your normal 'fairies' you hear about in a children's book. They may look innocent and hauntingly beautiful, but they naturally have a cruel nature in accordance to humans. For them, it's the norm.

COURTS
There are many types of Fae - it's split into two main sections, the Seelie and Unseelie Court which are further divided into two kingdoms. The two Seelie Kingdoms are equally ruled by the Spring Queen and the Summer King, each ruling their respective kingdom. The two Unseelie Courts are ruled by the Winter King and Autumn Queen. The courts are rivals, but currently have a peace treaty. The Seelie Court is often referred to as the Light Court and the Unseelie as the Dark Court.

In between the land of the courts is no mans land, divided into two - the Wyld Woods and Feared Forest. Due to the nature of these places, one cannot rule over it, nor does anyone want to rule in between the most powerful kingdoms.

The Fae live in a whole separate realm. The realm of Faeries don't have a map as it changes often, the borders look like waterfalls falling into nothingness - you don't die, you just cease to exist and everyone forgets about you.

TYPES
Faeries can look like a lot of things. Not all have wings or fairy dust. The are pixies, elves, mermaids, nymphs, red caps, goblins, satyrs etc. All Faeries have the ability to glamour themselves - some sort of a disguise which covers their inhumanly features and make them look human. Faeries often mingle with humans but keep up their glamour and pretend to be humans - there are consequences if a human sees one without a glamour.

BACKGROUND
The Fae have always existed since the start - only they didn't always cross into the human dimensions - the two world didn't even know of each others existence and there were no passage ways between the realms. It was until after the Shadows came mysteriously which led to the creations of warlocks, vampires and werewolves, that Faeries crossed but after the Dark War, it was decided all supernaturals hide their existence from humans.

(Shadows do not come in this book as they do not come in the Fae realms but shall be explained when I write book about warlocks, werewolves and vampires which do live in the human realm where Shadows can reach).

HALF BREEDS
Some Faeries have secretly had children with humans, however the half breeds child's Fae genes will only fully activate if they enter the Fae realms. Not all genes remain dormant however but they have the Fae's unnatural beauty, tendency for mischief and are popular amongst humans but are mostly unaware of their Fae heritage as the Fae parent is unable to remain. Half breeds often see the Fae, through weak glamours - as can their offspring - they have the Sight - but often pass themselves off as crazy. Some Fae illegally take humans as their slaves to amuse them - like their pets and discard them once they are satisfied.

TIME
As time runs differently in Fae - an hour in Faery could mean a year for humans or it could be the same but it is generally longer in the Fae realm. So when the human has returned their age catches up on them and die shortly of old age.
