Meeting her was the best day of my life, finally a friend I could rely on and call when feeling low or lonely. She was living next door from my parents household meaning we always bumped into each other on the way to places, which was not a bad thing since we are friends after all.
During my recovery from the trauma of the bullying, she would always come round with food and snacks for our game nights to cheer me up in the mean time, testing out the games I create or we just enjoy the usual games for my inspirations.
Has she seen me at my worst?
No... But if she does I fear it will impact our friendship too.
Knock. Knock.
"Ni~Chan! " Everytime I am greeted with her cute voice erupting the silent atmosphere in the house with her positive energy and broken Japanese since she's still learning. Pulling her into a hug as usual, I couldn't help but smile for the first time in a while feeling my cheek muscles ache.
Thanks to her I just felt the same I did that day she found me.
Unfortunately for her, she became the new target but she tells me not to worry too much since she rather it be her than me, which makes me feel like I failed as friend because I am not able to stop it or protect her from what I went through. One day I will make sure she is no longer in this situation to repay her for her kindness.
"Come on, I need you to play a game I've been working on. " Grinning to myself as she nods in excitement knowing I worked hard on it. We both rush to my bedroom and she sits on the bed in excitement whilst I set up the game for her.
"What's it called?" She tilted her head in curiosity when I show her the loading screen projected on the TV.
"The Queen's Executioners. "
"The Queen's Executioners? Like what genre?" She seemed confused by the choice of name for the game.
"It's a RPG than your favourite first person shooter games. You will like this though since I have added a few fight scenes for your interests. Besides we need to create our characters in hope to see how this works out. " Placing myself on the floor before grabbing the controllers on my bed side table to start our game until the late night before she had to go home.
