The first time Asuna met with (Y/n) is when they formed a party together with Kirito to fight the first floor boss. After the boss is defeated, Kirito left the party leaving the two alone. Seeing that they worked really well in that boss fight, (Y/n) suggests that they stick together which Asuna accepts. Ever since that, the two fight side by side facing the horror of the Aincard, they become the infamous duo of the clearer, strongest duo in the game. Asuna is the sub-leader of the Knight of the Blood (KoB), the strongest guild in the Aincard. She is the fastest player in the game. Her rapier, combined with her speed, earned her the nickname "Lightning Flash".

Kirigaya Kazuto also known as Kirito. He is one of the first friends (Y/n) made in this death game. Back when they first met, for a short period of time, Kirito is like a mentor to (Y/n), he shows him the rope to get by in this game. They became fast friends. Unfortunately, their path divides when everyone finds out that he's a beta tester. Since people tend to avoid beta testers, Kirito chose to go solo, but it didn't stop the two to become best friends. Not like most people, (Y/n) didn't avoid him, instead, he wants to get along with him. At first, he tries to push him away, but the man is too stubborn for that. One event leads to another and now, they wouldn't even hesitate to give their life for each other.

Yuna and (Y/n) never would imagine that their fate would intertwine with each other. Just like most players in the SAO, Yuna is struggling to get the hang of the game, fearing for the loss of her life, she hides from reality hoping everything will go away, but as time goes by nothing changes and Yuna didn't want to stay like this, feeling helpless and can't do anything about it. She set her mind and gather all her courage to venture forward to stop hiding and face this death game. All the veteran players avoid newbies so she didn't have anyone to help her. She knew that she will not last long outside the town in her state, but at least she must try, even if it means losing her life. And that's where they came in, the infamous duo of the clearer. When everyone turns their back on her, the duo offers her a helping hand. They become her mentor in this game. Asuna grow attached to Yuna and in no time, they become a best friend. (Y/n) try to become a reliable brother figure to Yuna as he helps her get the hang of how the game works. Yuna never mentions this to anyone, but in her eyes, Asuna is like a big sister that she never had and (Y/n) is like her knight in shining armor.

Eiji is Yuna's childhood friend. They've been together ever since the game started. Eiji made a promise to Yuna that he would protect her so that she could return to the real world. But of course, he didn't know the harsh truth of that promise. Eiji trains himself so that he can protect Yuna, but one day he reaches the point where he's too afraid to fight. He suddenly froze in front of the enemy, he can't move because he was too afraid to die, fortunately, at the last second, he manages to flee and save his life. He persuades Yuna to stay and hide from the world outside. As time pass by, hope for him to fulfill the promise that he makes starts to fade away. He lost confidence in himself and start to fall into depression, that is until he saw a light. A light in a form of a player name (N/n). (N/n) offer to teach him and take him under his wing, little by little he starts gaining his confidence back and stops being afraid to fight as long as he has him by his side. Thanks to his new teacher, now Eiji is sure that he can bring back Yuna to the real world and fulfill the promise that he made to her.
