"Alright, Freedom? What's your favorite word and why?" The English professor asked.

Classmates started to giggle and laugh as someone tapped the pink and brown haired girl slumped over a sketch of a sunflower.

She looked up half dazed as she pulled her earbuds out, classical music spilling into the room as whispers started.

The teacher smiled and the girl smiled back, answering clearly.

"Almost." Everyone when quiet at the girl and her soft voice.

"Why?" Eyes flickered back to the girl from the teacher.

"Because it's like the buildup before the climax, the edge, the rush at the part where everything comes together...but doesn't and falls flat. We almost made it, he almost loved me, I was almost enough, we almost won." The girl smiled to herself as she trailed on, everyone watching her, feeling mesmerized.

"It's a word that shows so much grit and hard work but is humbling with how no matter how much grit there is, there was never success. It's bittersweet, holding so much life and so much regret in a few simple syllables." The teacher smiled as everyone blinked, he continues the lesson and she continues her drawing and the moment is over.
