Chapter 36: You're kidding me

***Cussing***

~Y/n POV~

The man looks my way as does everyone else. I look back at the group to see them nod their heads and I turn back to the man

I clear my throat before speaking up "Um...how much are you selling that creature for?" I ask more confidently as I look at Alberto for a quick second then turn away

"Oh well, if you'll just follow me back here then we'll negotiate," the seller starts before he pushes the cage back behind the curtain and shoos everyone away

I nod towards the curtain where Alberto disappeared and they all walk over as we begin to follow the man behind the curtain

When we get behind it, we come face to face with a tied up, muzzled, blind folded and scared looking Alberto

Giulia grabs my hand as she covers her mouth and stares, horrified, at Alberto. I'm guessing the man noticed her expression because he began laughing

"Pretty hideous ain't he?" The man chuckles, I see in the corner of my eye Massimo glare at the man and clench his fist and Ercole walks over to me and Giulia and rubs Giulia's back while staring at Alberto

"Is the creature injured?" Massimo asks and the man nods

"Yeah he got beat every time he tried to talk or even slightly misbehaved, he should be tame now bug if he attacks one of your kids there," the man says motioning over to me,Giulia and Ercole "Then just kill the son of a bitch" The man finishes

I hear Alberto whimper slightly and I turn towards him, finally noticing all the wounds,cuts, and bruises that cover his body. I feel my eyes begin to tear up but I quickly compose myself and wipe the unfallen tears from my eyes

"So, how exactly did you find this creature?" Ercole asks

"Well as I said my nephew actually found it, His names Aaron Rossi, but that's not how we even heard about it. My sister and her husband, Aaron's parents, had gone to a town that had been rumored to have that little suits species, Aka sea monsters, of course they not I believed it so my sister and her family went to go and check it out. My nephew became friends with a kid, I think his name was Ercole I believe? I don't know, but after becoming friends with that kid, said kid had taken my nephew to a small town called Portorosso and that's when my nephew met another group of kids. One day Aaron was hanging out with the group of kids, he was actually dating one but he never told me their name, anyways that first kid had gotten mad Aaron was hanging out with the group so he stormed off. My nephew being the amazing kid he is," The man says

"He's the farthest fucking thing from amazing" I think to myself

"He went after that first kid and just talked to him, and then, due to anger and stupidity, that kid told us that this son of bitch was a Sea monster!" The man says before laughing

I look over at Ercole and see him look down in shame, Giulia grabs his hand and gives me a 'I forgive you' smile and he gives a small smile in return

"So my nephew went to my sister and her husband and told them exactly what that kid said, and that's when they started to create a plan. They decided to go with a 'hey I'm your cousin!' trick and it fucking worked! I mean I heard that even the dad fell for it, anyways after my nephew said that to this idiot he showed him that he was actually sea monster so that's when they started to create another plan on how they were going to kidnap him. So they told him that they knew where his Dad was and then they took him on a train, brought him to the docks in the original town they were in, drugged him and brought him to me. And here we are now" the man says with a smirk

"Wow...your nephew is...smart" Giulia slowly says as she probably tries to process everything that the man just said

"One of the smartest" The man says "anyways back to business here!" The man says before turning to Massimo

They begin to discuss the price for Alberto but I don't hear any of the words coming out of their mouths as I just stare at my fishy boyfriend in a cage covered in cuts and bruises

I hear Giulia let out a soft cry and I turn to her as does Ercole. She immediately hugs me and I hug her back, she continues to quietly cry on my shoulder as Ercole sadly looks at us then turns towards Alberto

I'm snapped out of my 'it can't be true' daze when I hear the price that the man is willing to sell Alberto for, No more and No less than...

"Two-million dollars..."
