CHAPTER 15

"see you in there, guys" I said to my friends

"later Hannah" said Hermione smirking

"oh, shut up" I said to her laughing.

I started to walk towards Blaise who probably saw me arriving, because he turned himself and smiled at me. I smiled back, but my smile vanished when I spotted Draco in that group holding his hand to Pansy. He noticed I was looking at him, but I looked away and I went straight to Blaise.

"Hi Blaise"

"Hey Hannah, you look gorgeous." I blushed. he was really beautiful too.

"Thanks, you too" I smiled

"Guys, we are going to enter, want to come with us?" Blaise asked to the group, but no one accepted to come. No one except for Draco Malfoy.

"Yes, I think it's time we enter" he said looking at me. I sighed, I had already understood his game.

We went to the Great Hall, which was magnificent: the sides of the room were decorated with white Christmas trees. There were some tables at the entrance with food and drinks. The Great Hall I knew seemed to have disappeared and replaced with another new one.

Most of the students were already dancing with their partners, and I saw Harry with Cho, Ron and Hermione and Ginny and Neville dancing.

"Can I have this dance?" Blaise was offering his hand to me

"with pleasure" I laughed while taking his hand. I could feel Draco's look behind my back, but I didn't turn, he decided to go with Pansy, so he should have enjoyed her company, right?

We started dancing next to our friends, and we danced all type of songs: lively and slow. We all had so much fun, I couldn't stop laughing. Blaise was really funny.

After some time, I saw him continuing looking to a Slytherin girl I didn't know. I smiled, he obviously wanted to dance with her.

"I think you should go and ask her to dance, you know, she is alone now" he looked at me in a confusing way

"are you sure? I don't want to leave you alone. I came with you"

"no problem Blaise, I will stay with my friends. Go and ask her. I'll see you later"

He wasn't really convinced of leaving me and of going to ask her to dance "C'mon, go" I laughed, and I pushed him in her way.

It was very hot in there, so I decided to go outside, my friends were still dancing, and to breath some fresh air. I sat in a free bench alone. I couldn't stop smiling. It really was the best night I was having, and everything was perfect even though I didn't have a date anymore, but I didn't like Blaise in that way, so it was ok for me. I wanted him to be happy and to pass the night with the girl he actually liked. 

I didn't go immediately to my friends because I saw them enjoying themselves with their partners, and I didn't want to interrupt.

As I was thinking all of these things, someone sat next to me on the bench. I turned and I saw Dean sitting next to me.

"hey"

"Hi Dean" I wasn't sure why he was there. He avoided me for two months, and I didn't expect him to sit with me.

"Where's Luna?" I asked, just to talk.

"she is dancing with her Ravenclaw friends" I nodded

"I see"

"and where is Blaise?" he asked me

"uhm, he is dancing with the girl who actually likes" I smiled

"oh, I see" I smiled because I didn't know what to do and say. I wasn't looking at him, it was already an awkward moment, I didn't want to make it more embarrassing.

"I'm sorry Dean, for everything, but mostly for hurting you, I have never wanted any of this" I took the courage, and I looked him in the eyes.

"I'm sorry too Hannah, I didn't have to behave in that way"

"It's ok, you had your reasons, and I understand that. We are still friends, aren't we?" I smiled

"obviously" he smiled back

"I have missed you" I put my head on his shoulder

"I have missed you too. oh, and you are very beautiful. I wanted to tell you earlier, but I thought it could have been awkward" I laughed

"thanks, you too, let's go inside. I'm starting freezing" we got off the bench and went inside.

After a lot of dances and drinks, I was starting to get tired. Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville and Harry were still dancing, and they didn't seem to be tired at all.

"Hermione, I think I'll go to bed, I'm a bit tired" Hermione nodded and kissed me on a cheek. She would have warned the others. I smiled, and I started going towards Gryffindor common room.

As I was walking, I heard footsteps behind me, but at first, I thought it was someone who was going to bed too, but then I felt a grip on my arm. I turned around even though I knew who it was, I recognized the fragrance. It was Draco Malfoy, standing in front of me, more beautiful than ever.

"do you need something?" I asked trying to look annoyed.

"Why them Hannah?" he asked, his eyes were reddened, as if he had just finished crying.

"I'm sorry? I don't know what you're talking about" I asked taking off the grip on my arm.

"do you really like a boy who dumps you in the middle of the night to go to another girl? Or do you like a guy who hadn't talk to you for months only because you were friend with me?" I knew who he was referring to, and I was starting to be really annoyed.

"it is none of your business, Draco. I'll go to bed now" I started walking, but I wanted him to stop me. I wanted to talk with him, stay with him as much as possible. Even if I didn't want to admit, I was missing him too much.

"please Hannah, they will hurt you" but even if I wanted to be his friend again, I couldn't stand his behave.

He couldn't do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. He couldn't hurt me like he did, avoid me, and then start talking to me again as if nothing had happened.

"why do you even care?" I yelled, and in that moment, I didn't even care if someone could hear me.

"because I love you Hannah!" he was starting to cry.

I didn't know what to say, I was paralyzed. I didn't expect that, and he took me by surprise.

I was starting to say something when Dean arrived and saw the situation

"is there something wrong here?" he was looking at me and then at Draco who was still looking at me, he wasn't crying anymore, but it seemed he didn't even noticed Dean. I looked him in the eyes, and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"No Dean, everything is ok" I looked at Dean who nodded and went back to the Great Hall.

But when I looked back to Draco, he was gone.
