Bad Batch Tech x FReader: Singer in a smokey room

Start from the beginning

"Get out of here and get me some money too?"

You wandered back up to the stage again, strutting your legs out in front of you, exposing your thigh even further. You sat at the front of the stage, staring Tech down with every fibre in your body. You tilted your face upwards, the spotlights framing your face and illuminating the highlighter your co-worker insisted on you wearing tonight.

"Why don't you do right,"

You trailed off, allowing the music to simmer for a few more seconds before you carried on.

"Like some other men...do~" you sung out, standing up slowly and moving to the back of the stage, exaggerating your hips as you went. Wolf whistles and cheers echoed behind you, normal for the day and time that it was. The curtains fell behind you, shutting you off from the rest of the world and perfectly hiding the dark blush that crept onto your face at the thought of how Tech would react.

"OMG, you did amazing! And what was all that with goggles, hm?" Amber, a co-worker turned friend, mused, eyebrows wiggling with insinuations. You dismissed her teasing comments and headed to the dressing room that you shared with all the other performers, "Stop it Am, it was nothing just a tip. Besides, after today I'm leaving anyway, so why not have some fun?"

"Wha- you're leaving? I thought we were besties? You can't leave me here with Kristoff, he's an ass!" she whined, but all you could do was shrug. "I- this job was only a temporary thing, I just needed the credits. I promise you I'll come to visit whenever I can." you beamed, standing behind a folding screen beginning to get dressed.

"Promise?" Amber whined, sticking her pinky over the barrier. You crept up onto your tiptoes and hooked your pinky around hers, "Promise."

"There they are officer, I thought they looked familiar!" The Dug from before had shouted from the entrance of the bar, alerting everyone including the batch to his presence. Beside him stood a small group of Empiral clone troopers, weapons cocked in their hands, "Thank you, citizen, troopers, orders are to kill on sight."

"Uuh, Hunter, what do we do?" Wrecker's voice came across as nervous, in any other situation he would have demanded a fight, but right now they had nowhere to take cover and there were too many innocents surrounding them. "Tech, how many exits are in this place?" Hunter spat out, grabbing his helmet and slipping it on quickly, the others following suit. "Only two, the main entrance and one in the dressing rooms."

"Okay, we head for that one and grab (Y/N) on the way out. Get ready boys." he commanded, quickly unlatching his blaster and firing away. Wrecker kicked over some tables and quickly used them for cover, but the tables wouldn't last long enough. It was a shootout, both sides taking cover and firing at random times, hoping one would hit the other. But the more clone troopers they hit, the more that seemed to come from realistically nowhere.

"We can't keep doing this, we won't survive if we just stay here." Echo barked out, ducking when a blaster shot past his head. Hunter agreed, turning to Tech, "Go find (Y/N) and get to that back exit, comm us when you get something."

"Got it," Tech assured, waiting till the blaster shots slowed down before crouching behind other tables until he made it to the back room. It was dark, the lights had clearly been blown out but there was nothing he could do to fix that now. He had to find (Y/N), it was the only reason he came, he needed to know she was okay.

Her performance had made quite the fool of Tech, but he also had quite the reaction to it as well. Stuttering and clouded thoughts were the main side effects. Using his brain, which had seemingly switched off during your escapades, he rationalised that you would be in the dressing rooms after finishing a performance; so that's where he went first.

He kicked open the door, many staff members cowering in fear at the far side of the room, no time for pleasantries. Tech's eyes scanned each and every face, but you weren't there, "Freeze." demanded a clone trooper from behind. Tech's eyes widened, how could he be so careless as to let his guard down for even a second. "Put your hands where I can see 'em." the trooper commanded. Tech slowly turned to face the trooper with his hands held high, already forming a plan to swiftly take him down.

The very next second, a loud ping sounded through the room, the trooper's body falling to the ground. His fall revealing a blaster shot to the back, it was still smoking. Tech flicked his gaze up, eyes immediately caught on your legs, ideally your thigh as you strapped the blaster to the cuff that sat comfortably against your skin. You coughed, catching his attention immediately, your hair was ragged, makeup slightly smeared, but you still looked absolutely insatiable.

"Need a hand?" you mused, offering him your palm. You were surprised when he accepted it, grasping your hand with a tight grip and pulling you into him. Your body clashed against his armour as he embraced you in a deep hug, he could see the goosebumps rise on your arms, feel the hair on your neck stand up as he held you close. "Don't ever scare me like that again, you hear me? You're never going on a mission without me ever again." he argued, pulling back from you.

You gave him a loving smile in return, batting your lashes at him in a moment of weakness, "Didn't think you'd miss me that much,"

"I've felt unquestionably lost without you, truth be told, I didn't think I would care so much but for the first time, I've been proven wrong," he muttered out, his eyes gaging your reaction. Your hand caressed his helmet, not really being able to meet his skin, "I want to kiss you so badly right now," Tech let out a small chuckle, "It'll have to wait until we're done, I'm afraid."

"Tech? Tech! What's your status?" Hunter barked through the comms, Tech jumped at the sudden sound, pulling away from you completely to answer him. "The back exit is secured and would be our best way to leave without being undetected, as long as you have a good enough distraction upfront."

"Oh, I've got a distraction for ya!" Wrecker piped up, grabbing a smoke grenade from his hip and flinging it in the air. The small bomb went off and covered the entire room in a cloud of thick dark smoke, easily allowing the others to meet up with you and Tech in the back. You herded everyone out of the dressing room and into the back alleys, insisting they go home straight away and stay indoors.

Amber passed by you, quickly grabbing your arm so she knew she had your attention, "So you and goggles, huh?" she again wiggled her brows at you. "Oh, shut up~" you moaned out, pushing her through the door before following after her. The moment everyone was clear from the building, Wrecker placed down another explosive and ran for it. The bomb went off with a loud bang and left the building erupted in flames, all while you ran for the ship, which thankfully, wasn't too far away.

The ship was sent speeding away from the planet, easily deflecting the flimsy blatter shots some troopers were shooting from the ground. The inky blackness of space soon flood the window, the entire ship lit from the artificial lighting. The others were on board doing whatever it is that they do, meanwhile you had crept into the cockpit to continue your previous conversation with Tech.

You stood beside him, his head swiftly turning to you with a smile. He offered his hand out to you, much like you had done to him, and pulled you to sit across his lap. "I rather enjoyed your performance today, if I'm being honest with myself. I'm also sorry for insinuating that you could never sing, you're actually very good at it."

"Wow, if that's what I get when you're being honest then you should be honest with yourself more often," you joked, but you still felt humbled by his compliments, it wasn't very often he dished them out. "Well, in that case, would you like one more honest opinion?" he sauntered out, tone completely and utterly cool. You nodded your head, leaning closer to his face as he spoke, his thumb rubbing up and down the sequined fabric of your dress.

"I wouldn't mind seeing you in this dress again," he uttered, his voice sly but sultry. You felt your back arch, chest bumping against his, "Guess I'll have to give you a private concert," you tease, pulling away from his pouty lips. You sat up from his lap, tugging down your dress thanks to his wandering hands. You blew Tech a kiss then shook your hips as you left the small cockpit, Tech's cheeks, and whole face at this point, lit in different shades of pink and red.

What a woman.
