Jennie is a country girl, having lived with her mom in a small village in Korea. She has no dad to grow up with, to lecture her about what life is and will be, but that doesn't mean her mom is not enough. Talking about her beloved dad even if she hasn't seen his face ever, she never complains though having not known why he really left, but her mom told her that her dad was a nobleman and that he died in a war.

Jennie believes her because as far as she knows, her mom never lies, and Jennie feels proud to know that her dad sacrificed his life for somebody else. She's also proud of her mom that no matter how long it is, she still loves her dad.

She would want that too.

She wants someone whom she doesn't want to forget even if they leave her.

As of today, Jennie moves to Seoul, the big city of her country, leaving her mom alone with her beloved neighbors and villagers. Though she is not really a fancy girl, Jennie is extremely ambitious. She wants to be independent. She wants to have a career with a stable and a lot more than she has expected salary. Those things would be ideal for her in the future. That's why she tried hard in high school. Not just in high school, but since the first day she stepped inside a classroom.

Ms. Jennie Kim has been given a scholarship to study at one prestigious university in Seoul with some extra amount of expense and an apartment for accommodation.

Her mom cries, seeing the letter from the university director. That night, Jennie finally feels the need to study even harder to make her mom feel proud. Not to mention the need to be able to provide her mom with anything she wants. She thinks her mom is suffering enough for raising her up alone.

"Take care, little Jen." Her mom says while trying to blink the unshed tears away. Jennie hugs her mom one last time, "I will come back with the degree in my hand, and we will live together for the rest of our life. I will take care of you after that."

Her mom nods finally with a genuine smile on her face embedded with a lot of hope that her little girl will be growing up with a good mindset and morals as a kind and virtuous woman.

She smiles one last time and kisses both cheeks of her daughter before the car leaves with Jennie inside waving at her until she couldn't see the vehicle anymore.

At the faraway, a woman looking more mature than Jennie also cries. Her tears fall down, and a deep feeling of pain starting to growl back into her heart.

For the last eighteen years of sneaking on Jen, this is the first time she feels like she loses her. She doesn't want to feel that way because Jennie is just another girl whom she adores and leaves for school or a job in the city.

The woman hates the city. It takes away all the girls she admires. Some of them marry away too, but she doesn't seem to hate the men they marry to as much as she hates the city now. She doesn't understand why people have to move when they seem to be genuinely happy with what they have now.

Maybe, she doesn't understand much about human beings. People crave difficulties and challenges in life. Maybe, happiness alone is not enough.

Then, suddenly she feels a hand on her shoulder. "You cry, Lisa." Her friend utters with a shocked face. "You can't..." She shakes her hand before trying to wipe Lisa's tears away, afraid that someone might see it.

A sudden terrifying shriek echoes, forcing Lisa and another friend of her to whip back at the source of the powerful voice. "Lisa, you son of a bitch! What are you doing?"

"Shut up, Jisoo! You learn another phrase from human again, and I can assure you it's not a good one." The blonde scolds the brave creature whose mouth utters whatever she wants to.

"Don't blame her, Chaeyoung. She's just an idiot friend of mine. After all, she's still my friend." Lisa touches her friend's arm to calm her down. Sometimes, the dark-haired finds it amusing to see these two of her best friends teasing each other.

Chaeyoung (Rosé), the blonde one is usually pissed by the idiocy of the purple-haired, Jisoo. One is smart, and the other is hilarious. Though Chaeyoung thinks her other friend is stupid, but Lisa is sure Jisoo is not. She is just smart beyond what she could control her intelligence.

Before Lisa could turn away, both of them look at Lisa with a shocked and horrifying face. "Lisa..."

Jisoo tries to control herself from grabbing Lisa's wings from disappearing, but she can't. She knows what this is about.

Lisa breaks the rule.

She feels something that she is not supposed to. Something she should have not let Lisa did in the first place.

God, Jisoo still remembers the look on Lisa's face when they saw Jennie, the baby laughing when she was just two-month-old. It was adorable, but her friend's expression was not a good one, at least to her world. Their world.

Firstly, it was a good one if Jisoo has to admit because the three of them actually like the little girl. Who doesn't love her?

It is Jennie.

Smart. Sharp. Adorable.

Exceptionally beautiful.

Though she is a country girl, her face is smooth and bright. Her adorable cheeks. But, the difference between Jisoo or Chaeyoung and Lisa is that for them, it's just platonic love.

And, Lisa?

She doesn't know yet, but she is starting to be sure now, given the fact that her friend's wings are vanishing from her sight right in front of her.

"Your wings..." Chaeyoung gasps as she grabs Lisa's shoulders but touches nothing. Lisa's tears continue to fall down. "What's going on?"

"You...love her."

She shakes her head rapidly than she's ever thought she could do it. "No. It can't be. I can't fall in love with human beings." She closes her eyes, breathing calmly as she tries to put herself together.

Then, she yells. "Father, you can't do that to your own daughter." Lisa can't believe her father actually disowns her because of the feeling she has. She's never shown it to anyone. Why does her father know?

Then, again.

Why do her friends know, too?

Does she show that much?

"You should not be here anymore, Lisa. You go to your little girl and learn your mistake that feeling provides pain to all creatures, and Lisa, you are no exception."

"Please, my lord. Don't..." Jisoo tries but fails to find her voice when the lord's face shows no regret when confronting his daughter.

"Where do you want me to live? I can't do that, father. Please..."

"Learn your mistake. I will have you back as soon as I feel like you deserve it." Then, he disappears as well as Lisa.

Chaeyoung and Jisoo's voices echo through their place. "Lisa......."

And, that's how it all begins...
