Dreams are something that is suppose to numb the pain of reality. What happens when your reality comes creeping up into your dreams, changing them into nightmares? What happens when all of the fears that you deal with on the daily show up in this world that is world your suppose to feel safe in? There is nothing safe about running from an abuser. There is nothing fun about waking up, with tears streaming down your fiery cheeks at 3 in the morning with no one by your side. There is nothing fun about taking pills to keep from falling asleep because one bad world is better than two. There is nothing fun about sitting alone in the dark, with your knees pulled to your chest trying to muffle your cries. There is nothing fun about wishing you could die because no one is there to keep you protected when you do fall asleep for a few minutes and wake up shaking. There is nothing fun about a dream that isn't much fun at all.
