This story is chunky! But it is episodic in a way that each chapter is its own short story, with the prologue chapter being the overarching storyline and the chapters after are their own episodes or 'Debts.'
This story is obviously inspired by A Thousand And One Nights , or what is known in the west as Arabian Nights. Though it is set in our far future across the universe. There are a lot of references to that original story complication, see if you can pick any up! some are obvious, while some are not. Plus there are a lot of references to other stories and books and cultures throughout the sisters' journey. Like the original stories, I wish to represent multiple cultures from multiple backgrounds, some are from Human societies while others are from other races. If you are a fan of book like Shahr, you might pick up many references.
