I turned around an got on defense but when I turned around I had dodged three bullets. But that would mean regina was behind me.

I turned around an saw three holes on her torso.

"Regina!" I panicked

I pulled the bullets out with my power as she fell back. I crouched next to her and the trunk opened as the backpacks came out.

Bandages an medical things I had packed came out for her.

"WHISPER!!" Ezy screamed," MOMMY!"

"Ezy!" I panicked

I looked back an saw she was trying to break free. I looked back an forth from regina to ezy till regina grabbed my wrist.

I looked at her an she coughed.

"Save my daughter..." she said," thats all that...matters..."

I got up an growled. I stomped my foot an clenched my hands into fists. The medical stuff treated regina while I heard males freak out an ezy scream.

I looked an saw the walls incased the males between cement walls and ezy safely on the ground. I raised my arm an the ground underneath ezy raised an came to me.

Once she was safe an put down, she went to her mother. I went to the males an raised my arm at them, slowly closing my fists.

They yelped as the cement started squeezing them.

"I thought they said- ahk- that her sickness got her!!" One of the males struggled

"She shouldn't be able to use her a-abilities after her side effects came up!" Another said

Then the male with the illusions was in front of me but I swiped my other arm through him. It was fake.

"HOW?!" One of the males asked

"Whisper." Ezy whimpered

I froze and felt something around my leg. I looked down an saw ezy crying as she held my leg.

"I wanna go...please..." She whimpered

I lowered my arms an let my hand relax. The cement walls went back in place while the males were dropped.

My bat then removed the illusion off my leg while I looked up at the roof of the abandoned building.

"I'm not stupid, regina told me ezy's tears are black not normal human tears." I hissed

I then looked at ezy an saw she was looking over her mother, black tears staining her cheeks. I went to her and cleaned her tears from her eyes.

I picked her up an growled. She had a cut on her wrist an her blood was pink like some kind of healing potion you see in movies.

Her cut started healing up though since her own blood can do that. I put ezy in back of the car an closed the door.

I went to regina an checked her pulse but it was cold. I raised my hand an her body lifted up. I opened the ground an rested her body on the dirt under the cement.

I carefully closed it and covered it up. I brought out a part of the wall an made a tombstone for her, my powers carving out her name on the stone.

I then sighed an heard the car behind me.

"This is why I avoid these kinds of jobs..." I mumbled

I hopped up on the hood an the car drove off. I looked through the window an saw teddy hugging ezy.

'I...I don't know how to comfort people...'

I felt unsure of how to distract her till the car forced me inside the car.

"Ow!" I complained," again! I'm doin just fine on top!"

"Comfort her!" The car said

"You know exactly why that's difficult for me!" I complained

"Just try!" The car said

I looked back at ezy an she was just looking out the window with teddy still hugging her. I sighed an climbed in back with her.

I was gonna say something but I had no idea what to say.

"Um..." I said softly," I-I...I know-"

She hugged me an cried into my chest. She held onto me tight and I had no idea what to do. I cleared my throat an patted her head awkwardly.

But I did realize she had people to lose...I didn't have anything to cry about cause I was alone all my life.

Till I met connor an my servants. They've been there for me but I don't have to worry about them dying. Ezy probably had a family...

"I...I don't remember much from my past ezy...I don't remember ever having people to cry over cause I lost them but...you had family and loved ones...I-I..." I said softly," Im not the best person for comfort but...I can try and I'm so sorry I couldn't protect your mother."

"But you did." She said

She hugged me tighter an sniffled.

"You tried saving her and you saved me at the same time! You were defending us and trying to keep her alive in the same amount of seconds." She said," you protected her more than I did..."

"Ezy no, you didn't have to worry about protecting anyone! I'm your protector, I am in charge of that and I failed!" I said

"But you gave her a proper burial and didn't leave her to her friends." She said," thats how daddy died too..daddy was left behind on the ground but mommy was buried... thank you."

She slowly let her grip loosen and just hugged me. She was calm and I wasn't sure if I did a good job with comforting her.

"Did...did I do it right?" I whispered to teddy

He shrugged an I playfully grumbled.

"Really?" I whispered

Ezy giggled and sounded tired. I looked down at her an scoffed a bit.

"Go to sleep, tomorrow we'll get a good place to eat at and find a motel to sleep in." I said

I put my arms around her an leaned back on the car door. She breathed softly an I took it as a sign that she was asleep.

The car doors locked as teddy came an cuddled up onto my chest with ezy, both finding comfort sleeping on me I guess.
