Queen of Light

Ep. 2 "The Return"

It's been 5 years and Dinah has returned to the village in completely new clothes and had every village girl gushing over her.

"Dinah, woah you grew." Her teammate, Lauren gave her a fist bump and Dinah connected it.

"Where's Normani?" Dinah wondered.

"Oh...well after you left she left." Lauren stated.

"What do you mean?" Dinah questioned as she raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know, she just went missing and lady Rihanna had us search for her but we never found her." Lauren explained and Dinah sighed.

"Well we never got word on her disappearance." Dinah's mother, Beyoncé tells Lauren.

"I guess she didn't want to bother you two on your training." Lauren shrugged.

"Are you a Jōnin now?" Dinah asked Lauren.

"Yep." Lauren nodded with a huge smile.

"Dinah, it's nice to have you back." Megan appeared next to Lauren.

"Sensei." Dinah bowed slightly.

"Some of the Jōnin are about to be sent on a mission now, do you want to join them?" Megan ushered.

"Sure." Dinah nodded and her and Lauren took off.

When they made it to Rihanna's office, everyone from Dinah and Lauren's academy class was there.

"Nice for you to join us Dinah, long time no see." Rihanna gave her a nod.

"Yes very long." Dinah bowed.

"Well there's been suspicious activities in a town nearby, there's been a spotting of a masked figure roaming there." Rihanna explained as she gave Ella, one of the Jōnin a scroll.

"Got it." They all said before disappearing.

They ran out of the village and towards the destination Ella directed them to on the map. When they arrived, the spread out across the village and looked for the masked figure. To their surprise, it wasn't hard to find. Lauren listened to what was being said between the figure and a little boy.

"Can I do anything to repay you?" The boy wondered.

"Do you want to be my student?" The person behind the mask asked.

"You-you're student?" The boy questioned.

"Yes, so you can defend yourself." They placed a hand on the boy head and Ella squinted to notice that the person is a woman.

"Yeah!" The boy cheered.

"Alright-" The mask figure looked at Lauren and Lauren quickly moved away to where Dinah was.

"What is it?" Dinah asked Lauren.

"They spotted me." Lauren stated.

"Great, now they are looking at us." Dinah jumped into a clearer spot to talk to the mask woman.

"So y'all are here for me." She laughed softly.

"What's happening?" The boy cowered behind the woman.

"Nothing, I'll protect." She took the mask off for only the boy could see and smiled at him.

"Who are you?" Dinah wondered.

"I wear a mask for a reason, so obviously I cannot tell you who I am." The woman put back on the mask fully and sighed.

"Then let's do this the hard way." Lauren connected her fist with her hand and the woman pulled out a kunai.

"You ladies like to dance?" The woman giggled before disappearing causing Dinah to pull out her sword.

In an instant, Dinah and the woman connected their sword and kunai.

She started performing one handed jutsus, making Dinah jump back. Shooting it at Lauren, Lauren put out a shadow clone having it take the hit. Kehlani went to grab the boy but the woman kicked Kehlani away from him.

"Do not interfere." She growled like a monster and Kehlani smiled.

"Sorry, I don't like playing by the rules." Kehlani dashed to the woman with speed and since Kehlani is the fastest in the light, the woman had her tricks.

"Light style-" The woman started but gets cut off.

"KEHLANI!" Gabriella yelled causing the woman to freeze up before grabbing the boy and dashing away.

"That was close." Ella sighed as she pealed off the paper jutsu on Kehlani's back.

"Nice spotting little sis." Solána patted Gabriella's head and Gabriella ran into Kehlani's arm in distress.

"I can't blame them, they are teammates." Ella put her hands behind her head and Kehlani rolled her eyes.

"How does she know light style?" Kehlani  asked.

"Huh?" Solána wondered.

"Before she activated the jutsu, she said 'light style'." Kehlani mimicked the woman.

"She's from a Kekkei Genkai clan that uses light style then." Ella put her fingers on her chin.

"There's not a lot of those." Ally tells her.

"Our family uses light style as well." Gabriella stated.

"The only who really knows how to use light style is Normani, but she isn't here." Solána sighed.

"I'll follow her." Dinah put away her sword and performed some hand signs.

"You just got here." Lauren rolled her eyes.

"Yes and Kehlani and I are the only two suitable for this job but she's injured." Dinah pointed out.

"Oh you're right, I am injured." Kehlani didn't even noticed her back was bleeding, no one did.

"You're not the only one who's been training, Dinah." Lauren crossed her arms.

"I'm not saying you aren't strong, I'm saying we are best at traveling. I can teleport through lightening." Dinah explained as she stretched her body.

"Teleporting takes a lot of chakra." Ella put her hands on her hips.

"I know." Dinah says then vanished after lightening strikes her.

"Tssk, that girl is a pain." Solána rolled her eyes.

"Yep, haven't changed at all." Lauren laughed as everyone else made their way back to the light village.

When they arrived the next day, they informed Rihanna about the woman.

"What does she look like?" Rihanna wondered.

"Well we don't know, but she was wearing a black and blue cloak." Ella clarified.

"As suspected, she's the leader of the Rijekuto or The Reject." Rihanna explained.

"But why did she want to have a kid as a student?" Lauren asked.

"Who knows, Ella and Solána go find out information on that boy." Rihanna instructed.

"Yes ma'am." They bowed before disappearing.

"Gabriella, go take Kehlani to the hospital. Tori and Camila, assist them." Rihanna ushered.

"Got it." They nodded and left through the door.

"Ally, go inform Beyoncé that Dinah went out on a side mission." Rihanna sighed.

"Noted." Ally nodded.

Rihanna sat down and looked at the picture of her kids, she put the picture down and gets back to work.
