With a small yawn, Morgan sat at the dining table next to Sookie, tightening her robe around her since she was in a black wife beater and boy shorts, she was known to sleep in untill around noon on her days off, so it was surprising to Gran when she was seated at the table. But the older woman smiled anyway, pouring a cup of coffee for her granddaughter and setting it down in front of her, along with a plate of food. Morgan smiled thankfully, picking up her mug and taking a drink of the coffee, a small sigh emitting from her nose.

"Marthaville's gettin' a Starbucks" Sookie informed, making conversation

"I cannot, for the life of me, see why anybody would spend three dollars on a cup of coffee with too much milk" Gran replied

"People are actually less calcium-deficient than they used to be because of all the fancy coffee they've been drinking" Morgan informed, taking another drink of her own coffee

"You know, I never thought of that" thinking about it for a moment "but it does make sense"

Gran set her plate down on the table, sitting down to join Sookie and Morgan for breakfast. Morgan took a bite of her buttered toast, then dipping it in the yolk of her eggs before taking another bite,

"Hey, Gran . . ." Sookie trailed off "do you think I should continue seeing Bill?"

"Sookie, I can't tell you that" the older woman replied "I can tell you that I think he is a smart, handsome and very polite young man, but of course he's gonna show his best side to me so that I won't stand in the way of him courtin' you"

"He scares me" she muttered

"Well, it is scary . . opening your heart up to somebody" looking at her

"I think it's a little scarier . ." trailing off "the vampire then . . the regular guy?"

"I suppose" giving her a small nod "Bill is the first vampire I ever met . . that I know of"

". . . I don't think you're scared that he would ever hurt you" Morgan spoke up "you're more scared because you don't know what he's thinking. You can't read him"

"I would imagine that wouldn't be such a bad thing for you with your . . ability" Gran added

Sookie stood up from her seat, taking her plate to the sink, Gran let out a small sigh, Morgan could tell she was thinking about something,

"You know, your grandfather used to know things" she informed, turning her body in her chair

The blonde straightened up over the sink, her back to Gran,

"What things?" Sookie asked

"If somebody was having money problems . ." She trailed off "running around behind their wife's back . . sick . . that kind of thing. Personal things they never would have told anybody about"

"See, that's exactly it" turning to face her "if I don't stop myself from it, I hear everybody's deepest, darkest secrets. I'm sorry. That's just too much information!"

"But then Earl's brother – your Great-Uncle Francis – came back from Korea in real bad shape" she continued "all torn up from the things he'd seen. Earl knew he was thinking about killing himself. He went over there in the middle of the night one night. Francis was just about to kick the chair out from underneath him . . already had the noose around his neck. But Earl talked him out of it. I just think there is a purpose for everything that God creates, whether it's a unique ability or a cup of overpriced coffee with too much milk . . or a vampire. God will reveal that purpose when the time is right"

Sookie walked over, kissing Gran on the cheek, and then starts going up the back stairs to the second floor, but she stopped mid-stride, and goes back down to the kitchen,

"Wait. I thought Great-Uncle Francis did kill himself, with a shotgun" Sookie said, confusion in her voice

"Oh, yes, he did" giving her a small nod "but that was years later"

"Hey, Gran?" Morgan spoke up

"Yes, hon?" The older woman looking at her youngest granddaughter

". . Do you know anything about my adoption?" causing the two to go silent "who my biological parents are?"

Morgan had never asked about it, so it surprised the two when she brought it up. But Gran knew it was just a matter of time before she would ever ask about her biological parents. She wanted to know where her quirks came from, how she can paint detailed pictures of people she had never met, her inhuman speed and strength, her quick healing, even her ability to read others minds. Morgan wanted to know why she was a freak.

". . . We never knew who your parents were" Gran replied, giving Morgan a sad smile "you were found on the doorstep of Baton Rouge Childrens Advocacy, a social services organization in Baton Rouge"

"They just left me there?" her eyebrows furrowing slightly

"I'm sorry, darlin'" sincerity in her voice "but I believe your birth certificate is around here somewhere. If you want, you can look on my old trunk"

Morgan gave her a small nod, Sookie looking at her sister with a sad smile, knowing she wanted to know where she got her quirks. The white haired woman finished her breakfast, drinking the rest of her coffee as she stood from her seat, putting her dishes in the sink. Since there wasn't that much of a mess, she washed the dishes, mugs and pans used to make breakfast, a low sigh emitting from her lips. Morgan knew about her adoption before anyone told her, paying attention to the signs when she was very young, the different skin tones, hair color, eye color. By the time she was six, she came to the conclusion that she was adopted, and it was confirmed when she was seven because she asked Sookie. It don't matter to the Stackhouse siblings though, they still treated her as their baby sister, and nothing would change that.
