AN: I've had this sitting in my drafts for probably over a year and didn't want to publish it because it didn't feel done but I also had no clue what else to write so I just decided to publish it anyway I'm sorry guys here ya go 😭 don't kill me

Delilah wakes up and looks up at her blonde caregiver with a smile, taking a deep breath. She stretches and yawns, whining a bit as she always does when she stretches but she tries to keep it down so she doesn't wake Luke. She cuddles into him for a while more before getting bored and slipping out of bed, going to her room and looking around.

Nothing in here looks like something she wants to do. She goes to the closet and frowns when nothing really looks like something she wants to wear, either. She picks out a plain white tank top and finds some high waisted sort of waist paper bag baggy black shorts, putting the clothes on along with some undergarments and socks and shrugging at herself in the mirror, liking her comfy but cute outfit and feeling like it matches the mood she's in- she hasn't quite distinguished her mood herself but she knows it different than usual.

She goes to the bathroom and washes her face, then brushes out her hair, throwing it up so it's out of her face and then pads downstairs, looking around.

She doesn't know what to do, but she's bored. She looks around and glances in the kitchen, shrugging and opening the fridge. She smiles as she decides she's going to cook for Luke and gets out the stuff she needs.

She's halfway through with breakfast when she slightly hears Luke call out for her, probably assuming she's still upstairs and in her room or something.

"Here!" She yells loud enough to be heard. She hears Luke coming downstairs and he frowns when he sees her cooking.

"What the hell do you think you're doing? You're not allowed to use the stove little girl, that's not safe!" He says, rushing over and gently pulling her away and she frowns and looks at him. She's not upset, she knows why he's assuming that she's- well, incapable? Not equipped? Somehow not safe, she doesn't know how to describe anything to herself really. She knows usually she couldn't do this safely, but she also knows that right now she can, and she's not sure how to explain herself to Luke.

She frowns, wondering how to say exactly what she feels she needs to be able to say.

"Um." She thinks, and Luke watches her, raising an eyebrow. She glances to the stove and move the pan off the heat, stirring it a bit as Luke cautiously holds her waist and then setting the wooden spatula down and looking cautiously to Luke.

Lukes confused too, he knows delilah knows better, but she also seems to know exactly what she's doing. He glances over her and notices she's dressed herself, which isn't unusual, but the way she's dressed is. So... grown up?

"Luke." She says and the blonde frowns, waiting. She sighs and thinks again.

"Um. N-no baby. Delilah. No baby." She tries to explain and Luke squints, trying to decipher what she means.

"You're not a baby right now? Just Delilah?" He asks and she smiles gently and nods, then bites her lip.

"Good?" She asks and Luke frowns.

"Are you asking if that's okay?" He asks and she nods.

"Do you mean you're not little today? You're not in headspace, you're a big girl?" He asks and she shrugs, then nods. She thinks that's right.

"Okay. Yes baby, that's okay- you're still okay with me calling you baby, right?" Luke chuckles and she smiles and tells him "yes."

"Still daddy." She says and pecks his lips.
