Y/N is Elena Gilberts Twin Sister

She ended up marrying Elijah Mikaelson after her fiance cheated on her and just left her 

That Fiance was Niklaus Mikaelson, Elijah Mikaelson's brother 

Before Elijah and Y/N started dating she slept with Tyler Lockwood and got pregnant since he is a hybrid and she was human 

After giving birth to a beautiful little girl she died on the table but Elijah couldn't let her die and turned her making her a vampire 

She was also a doppelganger of Katherine, which made everyone surprised seeing twin doppelgangers 

Damon had always loved Elena but while she was dating Stefan he tried to get with Y/N but she always rejected him which didn't matter because he ended up marrying Elena and Stefan married Caroline 

Klaus Mikaelson fell in love with Y/N the day he met her, so he chose to kill Elena which made everyone mad because they only cared about saving Elena minus Bonnie and Caroline they wanted to save Y/N more than Elena 

Elena was always jealous of Y/N because she was always the favorite twin with their parents 

She also tried to steal Elijah from her once they got married but that only caused Damon to leave Elena leaving her alone 

She also tried to date Matt again but he rejected her because she only wanted him as a rebound 

So she left Mystic Falls and ended up getting killed by Katherine Pierce who thought she was Y/N because Katherine was jealous that she got Elijah 

Before Klaus and Y/N were married, he ended up getting drunk and sleeping with Hayley Marshall, he tried to get Elijah to help him after finding out she was pregnant but Elijah denied the request and stayed in Mystic Falls and helped Y/N as her best friend 

After she gave birth to her daughter, Elijah revealed his feelings and they started dating and got married shortly after and they ended up having a son after Esther and Dahlia gave them the ability to have children 

*Dahlia never wanted to take Elijah's firstborn because he deserved to have a child but she still went after Hope*

Y/N had found out about Klaus cheating by walking in on them having sex, she screamed and yelled while Klaus begged and cried 

She was helping Elijah with something when Klaus was protecting Hayley from vampires 

So now 17 years later Klaus is enrolling Hope to the Salvatore school after Hayley died to protect Hope from the darkness *Why Klaus died, so instead of him, it was her*

Hope is 17
