The sun hit me right in the face as I tried to ignore it in the car. I maintained a smile on my way to the university of my dreams. Once there I got out and kissed both of my parents goodbye. I took my suitcases and happily set foot on the campus. There were so many people there already moving in. I walked in the building that I was assigned to. I had to leave my items somewhere before going on to explore the campus. I got up to the 4th floor and my dorm adviser led me the way. He soon stopped at door 401. He opened the door for me since my hands were full.
Half of the room was furnished, and not with simple items like a bed or table. Instead it was already half full with video games on the floor and fresh sheets on the bottom bed of the bunk bed.
The first thing that stood out in the room was a guy, about my age standing there in the middle of the room.
   "Audrey Knight?" he asked.
"Yeah, who are you? This is my dorm."
"I'm Mason, we're roommates," he said with a wide grin.
I just stood there in shock. "There's got to be a mistake, girls are always with girls in dorms."
"Well there are no more open rooms so you're stuck with me darling."
He kept grinning at me so I turned towards the dorm adviser who was keeping quiet. "I have to be in the wrong room, I-I can't share a room with a boy!" I exclaimed, going crazy in my mind.
He swiped a few times on his tablet and looked up at me. "I'm sorry but all the rooms in the girl's building is full. It says that your scores were very high so they had to accept you but Mason's was as well. This is the only available room."
"There has to be some guys that are alone that he can pair up with or something," I said but my words were shaking.

"I'm sorry Ms. Knight but we will inform you if there are any free rooms. It would be upsetting but you can always just try to apply next year if you don't feel comfortable with the conditions."
"No, no, no. This took me a lot of time and studying. I have no time to waste a year."

"Okay then, I have other students to tend to. Hope everything is fine with you." He smiled and left the room, shutting the door behind him. I slowly turned to face this so called Mason character, sighing.
"How do you know my name?" Was the only thing I could say.
"The dorm adviser told me earlier that you were going to be my roommate."
"Could you at least wipe the grin off your face, it's like you haven't seen a girl in your life." I said disgusted and took my suitcases to the small closet we had to share.
"On the contrary, you overreacted like you haven't seen a boy in your life," he countered.
I turned around already pissed at him, and with having the manner and patience that I had, it was hard to piss me off.
"Listen here, I came here for my education and I don't want you to be the dark cloud over my dream. So don't talk to me, don't look at me and don't even think about me." I spat in his face and turned to arrange my clothes in the closet.
"Okay there miss goodie two shoes. I surrender, but you really gotta lay loose a little. Seems like your parents never really let you have any real fun since you're still buttoning your shirts all the way up to your neck," he said and plopped down on the bed.
I ignored him and finished unpacking but I was scared of heights so I took my pillow and dropped it on his face.
"Hey what was that for!" He exclaimed.
   "I want the bottom bed."
"Well early bird gets the worm babe."
"Look I don't have time for your jokes, I want the bottom bed."
    "Give me a reason."
"Well, because..." I hesitated, not wanting him to know my fear. "Because I just do."
"Well too bad, you're getting the top bunk. Now I want to nap so don't bug me." He turned onto his side and was snoring in a matter of seconds.
I sighed and set my bed up on the top bunk and left the dorm completely. Maybe a walk around the campus would clear my head a little from this situation.
