"I love you too, my angel. Bye"

Amy slumped on her bed as soon as the line went dead, totally forgetting about packing her suitcase. She couldn't wait to spend another summer break with her family and the love of her life.

The next day, Amy was picked up from the University by one of her dad's chauffeur.

'He can be so dramatic' she thought to herself, as she browsed through her social media on her way to the airport.

After a flight duration of over four hours, Amy was glad to be back in San Jose. She slept throughout the flight as planned, so she felt refreshed. She got into the Mercedes SUV that was already waiting at the airport and the chauffeur started the car.

On her way home, Amy decided to give Bryan a call.

"Hello beautiful" his husky voice greeted at the other end of the phone, causing a deep blush to spread all over her face. That was the kind of effect he had on her.

"Hello to you too, hunk" she replied after regaining her composure, earning a deep chuckle from him.

"Let me guess, Henry isn't with you"

"Nah. He's busy, so he sent a chauffeur"

"That's new. I'm sure he's worried sick right now"

"A little" she said with a smile.

"I can't blame him though.. you're his everything"

"And you... What am I to you?"

"You mean the world to me"

Amy knew that already, but she wanted to hear him say it, as it gave her the confidence and assurance she needed.

"How was your flight?" He asked changing the subject.

"It was fine. Although, I was lonely" she explained with a pout.

"I miss you so much. I can't wait to be with you" she continued.

"I was with you for a whole week just, let me see.. three weeks ago? When you lied about being sick" he reminded her, chuckling at the end of his sentence as he recalled the events that actually took place three weeks ago.

"Not fair! I was actually stressed from preparing for my exams, so I needed my stress reliever, if that's even a word. You can't blame me"

"That's why I had to rush out of a board meeting without an explanation, hired a jet in less than an hour and flew down to Chicago, just to be with you"

It was now her turn to chuckle as she couldn't help but recall how worried he was when he arrived at their meeting point, which was a house he bought for her, for her twenty first birthday.

"Aww! But you promised I could see you anytime. You're only one call away, remember?"

"Yeah. Actually I do and I love you for taking advantage of it in the slightest way possible"

"I love you more" she cooed.

"What time are you coming over?" He then asked.

"Someone's excited to see me" she joked.

"You can't blame me. You have that much effect on me"

Amy couldn't help but let out a small squeal from his confession. Moments like this, when he admits his feelings were priceless to her.

"Dad is going to make up for not picking me up by taking me out for dinner. So, I'll be at your place by nine"

"I'll be expecting you"

"We just arrived and oh my God! Dad is waiting for me with a brand new ferrari. I knew he was up to something"

"Typical of him"

"I'm sorry I have to hang up, but I can't wait to be in your arms. I love you"

"I love you more. Have fun"

Amy hung up immediately after that. She rushed out of the car, not waiting for the chauffeur to open the car door and ran to her dad, engulfing him in a bear hug.

"I missed you so so much, my angel" Henry murmured into the hug, kissing the top of her head.

The smell of her dad's cologne made Amy feel at home.

"Why didn't you just tell me you were getting me a new car?" She mumbled against her dad's chest.

"I wanted to surprise you" her dad replied while stroking her hair.

"I can't believe you chose to buy a car over coming to pick me up"

"I would never do that... I had this planned out before now"

"Really!" She sounded excited.

"Absolutely" Henry chuckled.

"That means, you still owe me dinner tonight like you promised"

"When did we discuss that?" Her dad confusedly asked.

"When you said you weren't going to pick me up at the airport, remember?" She pulled away from the hug, folding her arms to make her point.

"Right. I remember... What a relief its not something out of the ordinary" he mumbled the last part to himself.

"What was that?" Amy enquired with a raised eyebrow.

"Nothing" Henry feigned ignorance and they started bickering about what restaurant to have dinner, as they walked into the mansion.
