Beatrice Ninalowo.

The shock was written on her face as their eyes locked. She saw her eyes move down looking at her necklace, dress, her clutch, and her shoes back to her necklace. And her face read a lot of emotions before she looked back up at her face.

Regret washed over her face.

Mrs. Beatrice had been told by her son and brother-in-law about what they found out when they set to look for Jola - as she knew her - and her son. It was unbelievable when she was told that the little son of her maid Jola had turned out to be a multi-millionaire who controls multimillionaire companies. The son of the woman who had claimed her husband was her child's father was one of the richest, most influential, respected young men on the continent.

And she was a testimony to that. Because the woman standing before her now wasn't small stature, the fair young lady with a nice accent whom she met working for her husband's family as a maid and later worked for her and her family. The woman she felt threatened by and also jealous of. The woman she was afraid will take her husband away after she found out she was his plaything while he was still in the country. That same woman had almost made her have a heart attack when she discovered that the little boy she was with was the illegitimate son of her husband whom he knew nothing about. And she was threatened by him. He was a threat to her son and her then-unborn child.

How things changed?!

The same woman she had accused of stealing when her husband's mother won't let her send her away because she was good at her job and respectful. She had framed and accused her of stealing. The same woman she had been so determined to put in prison using her husband's influence, just to get her out of their lives.

But she wasn't that woman again. Standing before her is another woman. The older version of the young lady but looking younger, beautiful, and glowing. And everything on her cost a fortune. From her clutch to her lace to her shoe and that damn expensive necklace she was wearing. The same necklace a friend of hers had bought half a million two weeks ago. And she was wearing that. Something she can never buy until God knows when.

She was different from the woman she sent away years ago. That young lady then doesn't even have enough to buy a single blouse for herself.

There was also the pride in her eyes that made her want to cry.

She would have never believed the day will come that she would be at the woman's mercy neither will she need anything from her. She had hoped she would never see her and her son ever again. She couldn't believe she looked so pitiful in front of the lady that had once stooped before her, calling her ma.

But now she was at her mercy. Her family was at her mercy. What they had done to her and her poor son was taking a toll on them after many years.

How cruel Karma was!

"Good morning." Mrs. Beatrice greeted standing up from her seat with a small forced smile. "Thank... thank you for coming. We've been waiting for you for some time now."

Mrs. Jolaoluwa's face was impassive. She stared at the woman who was speaking so humbly and looking embarrassed like pleading was the last thing she wanted to do at the moment. But have no other choice than to do so.

How mighty God was! She thought to herself.

Here was the rude, harsh, bipolar lady that had won Lawrence's heart. The woman whom Lawrence decided to choose over her, to tie the knot with and have his family with. The woman he had fulfilled all those promises he made to her with. The woman who had managed to have a place in the Ninalowo family. The woman who had easily got what she always desired. The same woman who treated her like dirt and had been forced to endure her punishment and wickedness just because she was in love with her husband. The same woman had flaunted her money, husband, and power before her just to indirectly hurt her feelings. The same woman who had turned her into an arch-enemy of the Ninalowo family, by accusing her of being a pretender and a thief.
