Ch. 13 "Family"

                                     Spencer POV 

Me and Tony walked down to Tony's lab where he had tools and all sorts of things scattered all over, clearly he was working on his suit, 

"Sit," He said motioning to one of the chairs in the room, 

I sat down in one of the chairs, 

"Okay so I need to ask you where did you meet him?" He said sternly 

"Derek?" I asked 

Tony nodded, 

"I met him at a convention for work," I said 

Tony arched a brow, 

"I accidentally bumped into him, and I offered to buy coffee since I spilled his cup all over him," I said nervously 

"Was he a jackass then?" He asked 

I shook my head no, 

"Not at first," I mumbled As I picked at a loose strand of material on my dress, 

"Not at first?" He asked 

"No at first it was great, he was nice generous everything like that," I said 

"What changed?" Tony asked 

I sighed 

"I don't know, I started noticing a difference," I mumbled 

"Why didn't you leave?" He asked 

"Because I..." I said hesitating 

"Spence?" He asked 

"Because I still cared alright, and if I left... I just didn't want to.." I began but couldn't find the right words becoming overwhelmed 

"Hey, Hey it's alright," Tony said cupping my cheek with one hand and placing the other on top of my hand, 

"I know nothing I say is going to make everything that happened go away I know that, but I am here now and I'm not going to let something like this happen ever again," He said 

I nodded 

"I just wish you would have come to me sooner, I knew something was going on, but I didn't know it was something like this," He said 

"I know," I mumbled 

"I just didn't want to drag you into this, and if I told you it would have made it that more real," I said 

Tony sighed, 

"You wouldn't be dragging me down, what was it I used to say to you," He said 

I felt tears falling down my cheeks, 

"That no matter how horrible the situation is I can always come to you, and that you would always keep me safe, And that were family " I said as I sniffled from my emotions 

"Yes, and I don't know how many time I have to remind you of that," He said 

He stood up and helped me up, 

"But I promise, I am going to make this guy pay, I looked up your medical records and I just wish I could inflict the same amount of pain he has caused you," He said 

"It wasn't as bad as it looked," I mumbled 

"Yes it is, you were in and out of the emergency room forty eight times, and that was in the first year, so it is far worse," He said 

"Sorry to interrupt Sir but Mr Fury and Rogers require your assistance the prisoner seems to have escaped," the AI said 

Tony's eyes got wide, 

"Stay here," He said about to walk out, 

"Tony what's happening?" I asked about to follow him, 

"Something bad, I don't want you to get hurt," He said spinning around, 

"Tony-" I began, 

He cupped my face, 

"I will explain later, just stay here this is the safest room," He said 

I hesitantly nodded, 

"Good, I will be back," He said kissing my forehead and walked out just as I was about to follow him, 

The entire room sealed with titanium no way out, 

                                      Tony POV 

I know Spence and she wasn't going to listen to me, I could see it in her eyes, 

so I did the one thing I could think of, 

"FRIDAY initiate SSP," I said 

"Sister Safety Protocol initiated," FRIDAY said 

all the doors and walls around the lab sealed shut with titanium metal nothing was getting in or out of that room without my say, 

"Now where is he?" I asked 

"On the stair well near the roof sir," The AI said 

"Seal the exit to the roof," I said 

"Of course sir," The AI said
