Chapter 60

Part One

It felt like my whole world collapsed when I heard those words. "N-No, Kuya!" sabi ko at marahas na umiling. "W-What are you saying?"

Kuya Kai looked at me with apologetic eyes. "He got into a car crash."

Tears started to fall down my cheeks and I could feel my heart getting heavier. "No! No!"

Agad kong sinubukang tanggalin ang mga nakakabit sa akin pero mabilis din akong pinigilan ni Kuya.

"Stop it, Cali!"

"Where is he? I-I need to see him!" I said as I was trying to pull out every apparatus.

"Cali, stop!" sigaw pa ni Kuya.

Dumating ang iilang mga nurse at sinubukan din akong pigilan. I felt so weak when something was injected to me. I couldn't move anymore and then everything went black.

I slowly opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was him. Nanlalabo pa ang mga mata ko pero alam kong siya iyon.

"Jax?" I called in a soft tone. Water immediately filled my eyes.

Am I dreaming? Is this all just a dream?

When he held my hand that's when I knew that it was real. Agad akong humawak sa kamay niya, mahigpit na mahigpit.

Mabilis akong bumangon at maigi ko siyang tinignan para makasigurado kung totoo ang lahat ng nakikita ko. It was indeed him, wearing a hospital gown with an arm cast.

Unti-unting tumulo ang luha sa mga mata ko.

He suddenly put his right arm around me. "I'm so sorry if I made you worry."

Mas lumakas pa ang pag-iyak ko at mahina siyang pinagpapapalo sa dibdib.

"What did you do?" I cried. "I got so scared. I thought... I thought you–"

"Shhh," pag-aalu niya pero mas umiyak pa ako lalo.

Takot na takot ako at kung anu-ano ang naisip ko nang sabihin ni Kuya na naaaksidente si Jax.

I was so scared that he would do something.

"Bumangga 'yong sasakyan..." he said in such a calm voice. "But don't worry, okay? I'm alright. The doctor said that they will remove the cast within the week. Baka Jax 'to?"

Kumalas ako sa yakap at masama siyang tinignan. "How are you still joking around? I hate you!"

"Sorry na nga kasi, madam... Bilhan kita ng bag?" aniya na parang stupid. He's so nakakainis talaga!

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up!"

"Milktea?" subok pa niya.

I decided to decorate my room to make it more like a real room. I'd be staying here for who knows long and I want Jax to be comfortable every time he's going to visit me.

Okay na rin si Jax at inalis na iyong arm cast niya. Thank God that the accident wasn't fatal.

I shopped online for the decorations. I even got a study table even if I'm not even enrolling for the next semester. I got fairy lights, instax films, and colorful clips.

Ate Paige also brought some indoor plants and they are all so beautiful.

I roamed my eyes and my room looked so much better after decorating. Pictures were posted on the wall around the lights and I even put up some motivational posters.
