Ada's mom had told her that they have a visitor. And only one person came to her mind.
Demilade.
But she was still having doubts. It was a weekday and secondly, she don't think he would come to such a place as where she lived.
She knocked on the door and opened it without waiting for a reply. The knock was just to make whosoever was in the house know someone was coming in.
A strong familiar scent, the expensive male perfume that had seemed to overshadow the air in the living room struck her nostril the moment she walked into the sitting room and her heart took a leap. She could feel the butterflies in the pit of her stomach fluttering and an involuntary smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
But she forced herself to keep a straight face. She stepped further into the room. The first sound she heard was that of Tife. She was saying something she couldn't pinpoint.
And then, she saw Demilade sitting with her sisters. The two girls were sitting on each side of him. Demilade was busy listening to what her father was saying to him.
And it was very surprising to her.
A stunning sight.
Demilade in her house.
In their little abode.
With her father.
And her sisters.
It was unbelievable!
Out of the ways he could use trying to apologize, coming over to her home was the least of her thoughts. She didn't even believe he left his work for a day just to be there.
It was actually sweet of him. She thought.
He was sitting with her father in their old living room, comfortably and relaxed and he was even listening to whatever her father was saying with keen interest.
But she didn't let the excitement and joy obvious on her face. So she kept a neutral face. And the two men turned in her direction immediately after she said her greetings.
"Daddy. E ku le."
"Ka bo." Her father replied. [Welcome]
She looked at her father and then at Demilade who had to face her, boring hole into her with his eyes.
"Thank you." She appreciated. Then she heard Demilade mutter a 'hi'. And she quietly responded. "Hi."
She turned back to her father. "Daddy, I already delivered the message. I have sent it to her."
"Okay. Thank you, dear." The man appreciated it. There was silence for a while. Mr. Bamidele looked from his daughter to her boyfriend. He could tell something was wrong with them.
He had not asked Demilade why he had come. But he had told him that he wanted to see him and also his daughter.
When he noticed both of them aren't saying anything, he concluded that they might need space. So he stood up.
Lola watched as her father stood up from his seat. She knew he wanted to give them space but she quickly denied him.
"Daddy, don't worry. You can sit. I and Demilade will talk outside." She said throwing a glance at Demilade who looked between father and daughter.
"I don't really mind dear. You two can have the sitting room."
"No, it's fine, sir," Demilade said before Lola could reply to her father. "We will go outside. I don't want to disturb you in your own house."
