"We're playing a game, you in?" Nila questioned.

She laughed, tilting her head back. "Course I'm in, you know how much I love games. What's the rules?"

Nila quickly explained them as my leg bounced up and down. I clutched my book while trying to simultaneously avoid and indulge myself in the conversation. A wonderful combination.

The girl slammed her hand down on the table. "I am so in! What about you, babe?" She turned to Tenshi.

Babe. So this was the mysterious girlfriend.

Tenshi didn't bother to look at her girlfriend. She sighed, "Fine, but only if I'm on Bea's team."

My head shot up. "Oh no," I scrambled for words, "I don't think, um, I don't think that's, I just, I'm not really one to play games."

Tenshi bumped my shoulder with hers. I cowered from the contact as if it burned my flesh. "Oh come on. Lighten up." She turned toward me, taking on a more professional stance. "Look, I'll give you a word of advice. Never play a game unless you know you won't lose. That being said, I think we should play."

She couldn't be serious right now. She thinks that I will be able to get a random guy's phone number. Me. The same girl who can barely get a sentence out. No way.

"Come on, you in?"

Peer pressure at its finest. "I'm in." My voice quivered.

Nila smiled. "Great, because here he comes."

We all stared at the doorway where a group of boys sauntered in, each one of them pushing around the others as they got riled up.

"He's the one in the center."

Tenshi smirked as it dawned on me. 'Never play a game you know you'll lose'. She knew.

You have got to be kidding me. "The guy in the center?" I questioned.

Nila nodded furiously. "That's the one, isn't he dreamy?"

I cringed. Ew. Not at all.

Tenshi pulled my cell phone out of my pocket, not bothering to ask. She held it up to my face to unlock it using facial recognition. I watched her, not bothering to question her. If she had chosen to steal my phone I probably would have let her.

She scrolled through my contacts, landing on the one with his name on it.

Klaus, standing dead center in the group of boys, pulled his cell out of his pocket. He read the caller ID before stopping his new friends, "Hey one sec, I gotta take this, it's my little sister."

I sighed. I was only one year younger but he would never let me forget it.

He held the phone to his ear. "Yeah?"

Nila gaped at me.

"Thank you kindly for helping us win this game. Greatly appreciated." Tenshi answered before hanging up.

Klaus stared at his phone, his eyebrows furrowing in concern. I grabbed my phone from her quickly, redialing Klaus. He didn't bother answering as he spotted me in the crowd and instead made his way towards me, leaving his friends.

"Hey, what's up?" He questioned, making it over to me and leaning his elbow on my shoulder.

Nila watched Klaus's every move with lusty eyes. So gross. "Wait, are you two like, together?" Nila asked us.

I don't know who looked more disgusted, me or Klaus. "She's my sister."

"So you're single?" Nila bit her lip.

No. Ew. No. She did not just do that. What does she see in him? He's...Klaus.

"Sometimes." Klaus answered in the same voice he always used when trying to pick up a girl.

Nila frowned. "Well, you must at least be coming to Dustin's party, right?"

Tenshi turned to me. "You should go, it'll be a big event. I can show you the rest of the people I hate. Who knows, maybe we'll even spill a beer on a couple of them."

Klaus patted my shoulder. "She'll be there."

And with that he walked away.

Did he just? No...he wouldn't, would he? Did he not just hear her say we were gonna spill beer on people? Someone save me.

Nila didn't bother saying goodbye as she chased after my brother, making certain he was going to that party.

Tenshi clearly sensed my unease. "Relax, I'm pretty sure Sonny's going as well. Maxon invited him."

Slightly more reassuring but I was still going to force Klaus to come, since he was the one to accept the invite on my behalf. I can't believe him. If I had to suffer, so did he. I'll stick Nila on him. Actually, he'd probably be into that.

"I've got to go," Tenshi's girlfriend informed us. "It was great meeting you, Bea. I'm Marley by the way, this one's girlfriend. Don't let her tell you otherwise, I know she tries to deny it when I'm gone." Marley teased.

Tenshi grumbled in response. Marley grabbed her face, kissing her softly. "I love you."

Tenshi's cheeks burned as she huffed in response. Marley wasn't having it. She kissed her again. "I love you." She repeated more firmly.

Tenshi looked to the floor. "I love you too." She mumbled.

I stared, in utter shock at the sudden change in behavior, the kind of stuff I only read about in books.

And oddly, the two seemed perfect for each other.

"She hates everyone but me." Marley winked at me before spinning around and swaying out the door leaving a very lovesick Tenshi in her wake.
