Still You [Short Story]

Chapter 13

After hours of making and baking the cake, I finally have my masterpiece.  I glance up at the clock in my kitchen and saw it was almost six o'clock in the evening.

Oh em gee! I only have an hour or so to get ready!

I immediately put the cake inside the fridge and out away my apron, then I run upstairs to my room. I have to take a shower since I wanted to be fresh. But first, I prepared my red blouse dress with black patches and paired it with black fitted pants.

(This look! He is really pretty! :> Credits to the owner again.)

I checked my outfit in the mirror to see if everything looks good on me. I am kinda nervous on this one actually. I don't know what will their reaction to me leaving on that day but I hope they can forgive me especially Namjoon and Jin Hyung since it was their special day.

Alright, Kim Taehyung. Be ready in facing them again. Hopefully, there will be no problem at all.

I immediately get my purse, phone and keys then close the main door. I went to the passenger seat of my car and drove safely to the restaurant that Jin Hyung texted me.

After 30 minutes of driving, I arrived at the restaurant, and thankfully they are already there. I parked my car and locked it after I went out of the car.

I walked towards them as Jimin and Ami waved at me. They still are the same goofballs I know.

"Hey, Tae! How are you?" Hoseok asked.

"I'm good Hyung. I'm a bit nervous about the event but overall, am good," I answered him smiling.

"Oh, yeah. About your event Tae, what time is it again?" Jin Hyung answered.

"Around eight in the evening Hyung, I hope you can all go," I said.

"We will definitely go TaeTae," Ami said.

"Alright, should we go to the table now?" Yoongi Hyung said.

"Okay, let's just wait for --"

Namjoon Hyung was interrupted with a voice calling out for the others.

"Hyung, I hope I'm not yet late," the man who called out said.

That voice, how could I forget that lovely voice. The voice that I want to hear over the past eight months. But what is he doing here?! I can't remember that I invited him to be here!

I turn around to face him.

"What are you doing here?! I can't seem to remember I invited you to be here," I know I am being harsh and unreasonable right now but I wanted to move on from him, and I'm not ready to face him yet.

"We are sorry Tae. We thought you'll be okay with it if Jungkook will come with us," Namjoon Hyung said.

I clenched my hand as I look at him with my angry eyes. I could see the hurt in his eyes but it still won't have an effect on me, I hope.

"We were thinking this might be a great opportunity for the both of you to talk and besides, Jungkook wants to talk to you anyways," Yoongi Hyung said.

"Talk? There is nothing to talk about. Now, LEAVE!" 

"Tae--"

"I said leave!" I said as I pointed towards the door.

The good thing is that Jin Hyung's reservation was in a private room kinda.

"But Tae I wanted -- "

"You wanted what? To hurt me again?! Just leave Jungkook!"

"Tae, please! Let's --"

"You won't leave?! Okay, I will leave. I'm sorry Hyung, I still don't want to see his face right now. I will go home for now. Can I see you guys tomorrow? I'm so sorry again," I said.

"Tae -- " Jimin said.

But I cut him off.

"Please, Chim?" 

They nodded and I hugged them one by one except Jungkook. I was about to walk away but Jungkook reached out for my hand. 

"No Tae, you stay. I will leave. I'm sorry, hope you will give me a chance to explain and talk to you." he said and was about to leave.

"Jungkook --" Namjoon Hyung called him.

He just smiled at everyone. 

Did I do a wrong move this time?

"No Hyung, this is a celebration for Taehyung and he never wanted me to be here. Goodbye Tae," he said as he walks away.

Minutes after he left, Jin Hyung approached me.

"Tae, why did you told him that? Why didn't you let him explain and talk to you?" he asked.

"Hyung, you know how hurt I was and probably it won't change anything anyway. Why would even he want to talk to me when it is clear that he doesn't want to be with me ever again!" I said.

"Tae! It is clear as a crystal that Jungkook wants to be with you! He even went with us here to support your event and to talk to you on his own! You never let him explain things! You always walk away from him whenever he wants to talk to you! Grow up Tae! The man wants to clear things between the two of you! Why are you so blinded by that?!" Jimin snapped at me. 

"Why are you even getting angry at me?! Why are you even like that?!" 

"Because you are being dumb right now! You are letting go of the person that you love because of a misunderstanding?! Taehyung you are better than this!" Jimin said and walk out from there.

What? Dumb? I was hurt because of Jimin's words. 

"Hey! Babe! Wait up, slow down!" Yoongi Hyung said as he walks after him. "Sorry guys, I better go after Jimin and Tae, please hear Jungkook out," Yoongi Hyung runs after Jimin.

Should I let him explain? Well, I still want him to be in my life. Should I? 

"Things are a bit heated right now and we should all go, let's just celebrate tomorrow after the event Tae," Ami said and walk away with Hoseok hyung after her.

"Tae, don't let your hatred or something towards Jungkook be a hindrance. Let him clear up your misunderstanding before it's too late," Jin hyung said.

"Tae, we saw him grow up to be a faithful man to you for the past eight months. Even if there is no certainty that the two of you will see each other again. Follow what your heart truly desires, okay?" Namjoon hyung said.

The two of them hugged me tightly. Should I let him talk? Am I at fault this time?
