The mythology of mermaids/merman: • They have an upper body of a human and a lower body of a fish. • They have magical and prophetic powers, loved music, and singing. • They live very long lives and have no soul. • If a mermaid or merman were to give a gift to humans, it will bring misfortune to them. If humans offended them, they will cause floods and other disasters. • Sometimes they will lure human to death by drowning. • It was often on omen of shipwrecks if you saw one on a voyage.
