"For heaven's sake Reed, you are twenty-nine. You need to grow up and be serious, " Demilade said. "You need to stop all these one-night stands and hook up."
He laughed. "You are talking like my mom Demmy." He answered. "I really like Amaka. She is practically the first girl that makes me have a second thoughts. But Amaka is too much for me. She is three years younger than me but Christ! The girl is very mature. And she also demands a lot. And too possessive. You know... a man must live his life." He gave a mischievous grin. "I'm still a bachelor you know. I got to enjoy my life."
"You've got to be serious for once. Don't you get tired of having sex with different women?" Demilade asked, exasperated.
Fareed smiled broadly at him. "No." He answered flatly. And Demilade shakes his head. "Also, Dad doesn't like her. He told us non of us should get married to someone from another tribe and a non-Muslim."
"What?" Demilade frowned deeply. "Why?"
"Don't know what he has with other tribes. The man is tribalism. But Fareedat is actually breaking his second rule. The old man wants grandchildren. So he is allowing her to get married to a Christian guy. Lucky her. But I think it will be hard for him to bend his first rule about marrying women from other tribes. "
"That's annoying and bad. I don't know why some parents will give criteria for their children about who to get married to. That's bullshit."
"Big time," Fareed added and he took another swallow of his drink
"But you know... it's kind of funny because you don't date Yoruba women neither are they Muslims."
Fareed laughed. "Bro, you are right oh. Even my first girlfriend is a Calabar girl." He chuckled. "I date a Yoruba girl once in 100 level. But it lasts only one week. The girl was a scam."
"Yeah, that bitch who was trying to suck money from you and trying to hook everyone up with her sluts friends," Demilade said with a sneer.
"You even remember." Fareed laughed. After a while, he added. "Girls from other tribe seems to catch my eyes more than girls from my own tribe. Funny as it sounds."
"I pray you don't have to fight with your dad about the woman you will be getting married to."
"I pray so too." He hoped. "Although ain't ready to be tied down if the time comes and it comes to that. He will have to find something to do about that rules of his. He knows that I don't give a shit about rules."
Typical Fareed. Rule breaker number one. Demilade thought. That was why he likes the guy. He does whatever he wants without giving a damn about what others do or say.
"So Demilade, wetin do you this morning?"
"Wetin I tell you say do me?"
"No bring da one here." He disagreed with him, gesturing with his hand. "Abeg talk jhoor. You wey your mind dey somewhere else during the meeting. Na Dayo dey does all the talking."
Demilade was quiet for a while before he answered him.
"Girl problem." He answered.
Fareed face breaks into a broad smile.
"Damn! Demilade Darlington is having a girl problem. Isn't that awesome?!" Fareed exclaimed loudly clapping his hand, amused.
Demilade scowled at him.
"And how is that going to help me?"
Fareed ignored his question and continued laughing like a maniac.
