He felt like punishing her a little for hurting him. But it was taking a toll on him. It almost felt like he was punishing himself because he no longer felt that way.

He unlocked his phone and a picture of her smiling face stared at him. He rubbed his hand on his face, miserably. He admitted that it was pure suffering shutting her out. It was punishment for trying to make her understand how he felt. It felt like he couldn't even breathe. He couldn't take it anymore.

His life seems too dull and miserable without her. He was missing her. He had never missed someone so much or wanted the presence of someone like he wants her.

And he wasn't angry at her anymore. The pain of not hearing her voice, or talking to her had overshadowed his anger. And he realized that he can't be angry at her forever. Not like he wanted to but he just couldn't help it.

It was even hard thinking about it.

He wanted space and to punish her. And he already had that. So he needed to have his girlfriend back because he missed her so much.

He went back to his call log and dialed her number. He was disappointed when the programmed voice said the phone number was switched off. Reluctantly, he turned his phone off and drop it by his side. Then he closes his eyes and tried to push away the thoughts of those things he missed about his girlfriend.

".... the work at the construction site in Badagry is almost done and the last shipment of glass will arrive at the site by four pm today and..." Uche was saying, reporting to her boss. Then she stopped. But her boss was quiet. He didn't ask why she stopped. Then she looked up at him. Dayo who was sitting opposite her, tapping something on his IPad also stopped when he noticed Uche wasn't talking. He knew she had not finished her reports. His eyes moved from her to their boss which she was looking at, with puzzlement.

Demilade was busy staring at his phone. He had drifted away from what his secretary is reporting to him. He had been that way since he came in that morning.

"Mr. Demilade," Uche called. "Mr. Demmy?"

He jerked his head up and he saw his PA and secretary staring at him like he was a clown.

"What? Are you done with the report?" He asked.

"No." She answered.

"Continue then." He blurted out.

She nodded and went back to what she was previously saying.

But immediately she started, his mind went back to what he was thinking. He wasn't concentrating on what Uche was reading. Neither does he seems to have interest at the moment. He just needed her to do their job while he have time to think.

Uche kept glancing at Demilade as she round up her report. She had noticed that he had been distracted since the beginning of the day. Just like in the meeting, they had that morning. He had almost canceled the meeting but they advised him against it.

Even his friends seems to noticed it. They were both staring at him, with a furrowed brows, trying to understand what was going on in his head.

Demilade had tried calling his girlfriend since he woke up that morning. First, Lola's phone was switched off, so he decided to give it some time since it was too early and  she would probably still be asleep. On his way to work, he tried calling her again and it was the same. Her phone was still off and it made him angry. And just before his meeting that morning at eight o'clock. He tried calling her again. This time it rang but there was no answer. And he kept trying but no answer.
