The Other World

To my family and friends,
I'm the smart, quiet one,
The girl who hardly talks,
The girl with no fun.

You can find me in the park,
Sitting under a tree,
With my nose in a book,
And a coffee cup beside me.

There's a world beyond that park,
A world you would never see,
When I'm in that other world,
That's when I'm really me.

Sometimes I'm an elf,
Who guards the woods,
Or a dark witch,
Who casts magic at noon.

Sometimes I'm a detective,
Defeating the bad guys,
Sometimes I'm the criminal,
Committing bloody cold crimes.

Sometimes I'm a werewolf,
Who howls at the moon,
Or a beautiful vampire,
Who sleeps at noon.

I have run away from zombies,
Faced a virus pandemic,
Traveled in two space ships,
Survived a great apocalypse.

And I warn you, my friend,
If you pulled me out of that world,
I'll turn you into a tiny frog,
With a spell, you have never heard.
