They said it's a war,
Because some wanted the North,
But the only thing I knew,
Was Dad's not home.
Breaking news,
Flashed the TV,
Every day and night,
Bombings here and there,
Spreading fright.
Every month,
For nine days,
Dad came home to stay,
Promising to come back,
He'd go again.
When it all ended,
I saw Mom smile,
'Cause Dad'll come home,
And there's nothing to cause fright.
