"It takes her a long time Daddy. Time has passed. Things changed. Why now? Even though she is back, it doesn't change the fact that she already has another family somewhere. She is with another person." Lola cried.

"You don't need to worry about that. You should be more concerned about the fact that she is back for you." Mr. Bamidele said to his daughter.

"What about you Daddy? Ehn? What about you? She left you. She didn't come back for you. She came back for only us. She didn't care how you feel or how you have been. She didn't care how it affects you when she left and how you will feel now that she is back but already have a family."

The man smiled and he pulled his daughter close, embracing her from the side. Then he said.

"I am so happy that you care about how I feel Lola. It's enough for me to know that you are concerned about me. And thank you so much dear for that."

"I should be Dad. You are my father. You were there when she wasn't. You did all in your power so we could live well. There is no reason why I shouldn't care."

"That is very good my dear. But I want you to listen Tiwalola. It is very beautiful of you to care and be worried about me. But you should know Lola, that's my responsibility. I know you have to deal with a lot of things and do a lot of things but you are still my responsibility to worry about. I'm fine. You don't need to worry. "

"I have to. You have hurt Dad. She hurt you."

The man smiled sadly.

"Yeah, I know she does. She did. But she already apologized..." She was about to cut him short but he held his hand and continued. "It doesn't justify what she did. But the damage had been done. She knew what she did and she acknowledge it. I am going to tell you one secret today Tiwalola. I always knew my relationship with your mother wasn't equal. It was 60-40."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I loved your mother more than she ever loved me. I won't say she didn't love me. She did. But not the way I did. I helped her a lot while she was still in school. I was blinded with love and I was ready to do anything for her. She was materialistic. And I gave her everything she wanted. And since I was ready to give her everything and she was indebted to me for all the help I rendered to her while she was schooling, she accepted to marry me. That is the reason why she married me, Lola. She didn't love me like I love her Tiwalola. And I knew that but I didn't care. What matters was that she was with me and she was mine."

"So when there was no more money to buy all those material things, the real her becomes to manifest. She was already used to being given everything and that is why she couldn't take it anymore when things began to change." He paused. "That's why I don't want you to be like her. But that's not the main discussion for today. What I am saying is... She wasn't entirely at fault. I was too. I was a bit obsessed. That is the truth. It is hard to admit but the truth is always hard."

"She might have hurt us when she left. But Nessa did find herself. To be honest, I envy her. She finds out what she wants and she gets it. She is happy now. I saw it when I looked at her."

"You talked to her?" Lola asked, surprised.

He laughed. "Yes. Do you think she will just appear in front of you and your brother without telling me?" He asked. She didn't think about it. And she felt stupid.

"I didn't tell you. But yes, I did. In fact, she came to me to ask for permission to meet you and your brother. I gave her Daniel's school address and number. I knew it will be easier to convince Daniel, that's why I asked her to meet him first."

"And you didn't tell me that Dad?" Lola said angrily.

"Some things are meant to be personal Lola. Nessa came to meet me and she apologized for her silly attitude before she left. She apologized for those things she did while she was still married to me. And said some other things which I can't talk to you about. And she was sincere. She might have left us but she finds herself. She finds what makes her happy and complete. But she still acknowledges what she did to the people she left. And that is why I know that she wants nothing more than to be your mother again. I could see it in her eyes that she regret leaving you and your brother. I don't care anymore if she is with another man and she loves him. Or that she has children with him. What I care about is that she loves you guys and she cares about the children she had with me. That is what matters. And that is why I forgive her."

"Her leaving me is my fate. Sadly as it is. It was meant to happen. And like I always say, life can not be full of sunshine. The sadness, the pain is one of the things that make up life. It is what gives life its definition. Life is not fair Tiwalola. And I have accepted that. Bygone is bygone. What matters is you are here. You and your brother and the twins. You are all my joy and my greatest accomplishment. And I am satisfied with that. So forget about it, Lola. Okay?"

"I will think about it, Daddy."

"I'm sure you will realize that I am right. But you are free to." He said patting her on the shoulder while she leaned on him.

And she had thought about it since they had the discussion. If her dad had let it go and forgive his unfaithful ex-wife, what more about her?

"Please do sister Lola. She really wants to meet you and talk to you. She misses you. She also regrets hurting us." Daniel tried to convince his sister that seems to be in thoughts.

Lola turned to him and gave him a scrutinizing stare.

"Have you been talking to her?" She asked suddenly.

The way he sounded told her that he had been talking with their mother without her knowledge.

He moved back, felt guilty like he betrayed his sister, and then looked away.

"I'm talking to you, Daniel. Answer me." Lola commanded.

Then he nodded. "Yes. I didn't meet her like she wanted because you told me not to. But I can't keep avoiding her calls. Moreover, I didn't regret talking to her." He said confidently. And he peered up at her.

Lola said nothing but just stared at her brother. He expected her to say something harsh or yell but she didn't. In fact, her face read guilt, concern, and confusion.

"Talk to her sis. Just forget about everything. She still cares about us. She even talks about the twins. She wants all of us to meet our half-siblings. And it is not a bad idea."

Lola was quiet for a long time, debating about it.

"Give me her number." She said.
And a broad smile spread on Daniel's face.

Another super long chapter. Apology again to those who aren't a fan of long chapters. I just want to make up for the late update and I am also trying to round this book up. I don't want it to be unnecessarily too long. I hope you understand.

So we have a lot in this chappie. Demilade is mad at his girlfriend. The poor lady had concluded not to bring the topic up again. And also, she is battling her own problem. It looks like Demilade words hit a nerve.

So leave your thoughts, I love to hear them.

Thank you so much for reading. I really appreciate it.
