"Demilade..." She called his name quietly. "I didn't mean to make you angry. I'm sorry. Okay? I know how sensitive you are about the topic."

He still didn't say anything and his face showed no expression and which gave her the impression that he was still angry.

"I didn't mean any harm. I'm sorry." She apologized. She watched him stay mute and he gulped down another of his drink, which made her angry.

She took the glass from him and placed it on the table at his back. He still didn't say anything. His face was still void of emotion.

"Say something please." She begged. His blank expression and silence were killing her.

Now she knew why Bayo can't seem to get through to him and also his mother. He did hate the man so much.
And he was venting that anger on them too.

But that discussion will be for another time. She needs her boyfriend back.

She removed his hand and sat on his thigh.

"I'm not going to talk about it again. Please. I'm sorry if I make you angry." She said and she kissed him on the lips. He didn't respond at first but he later did. But not for long either as he broke the kiss.

"We are not talking about it again." He said in a hoarse commanding tone. She nodded.

"Yes." She agreed.

He shake his head slightly but said nothing else.

"Smile. Please." She drawled him. He just stared at her." Are you still angry at me?"

"No." He retorted. Which was a lie.

"You are. Common... Please..." She drawled, pouting.

He gave a small smile that seemed forced which also quickly disappeared. She rolled her eyes and heaved a sigh.

She promised herself not to bring up the topic of his father again. She hates this side of him.

"I see you are still angry at me. I'll give you time to cool off your anger." She said standing to her feet. "I'm going home."

"Alright." Was all he said nodding. And then he picked up a book on the desk and opened it.

Lola stared at him for a while before swallowing hard. She felt like tearing up at his action. She hated this cold side of him. He can be very cold and mean when he wants to and she hated it so badly. All she wanted was for him to pull her closer, kiss her, and tell her not to go.

But he was doing non of that. Instead, he was reading not sparing her a glance which hurt so much.

She said nothing else but she left the room.

The moment he heard her walk out of the library, he closed the book in his hand. Not like he was reading anything. He couldn't even concentrate on everything that is going on inside him. He turned his chair around to face the semi-round desk. Then he dropped the book on the table and he leaned his elbow on it, then propped his head on his hand.

Lola picked up her phone from the bed where she kept it. She just finished dressing and was about to leave the house. She had received a call from Mrs. Jolaoluwa, Demilade mother, two days ago. And the woman wants to see her. So she was leaving for her shop, which she had sent the address to her.

She looked at the phone screen to see if she has any missed calls but there weren't.

It has been three days since she walked out of Demilade presence in his inbuilt library. And three days that she had talked to him.
