Chapter 18 Gang Qi

Translator: Storm in a Teacup

Si Yuhan raised his arm. His eyes were fixed on Ke Ruan's wound on his arm. It was dark. He couldn't see it clearly but the smell was strong enough to remind him of the fact.

He clenched his fists slowly until his knuckles were white, struggling.

As soon as Ke Ruan turned his attention back from the shore, he immediately felt something unusual was happening to the child in his arms.

Damn it!

Ke Ruan scolded himself silently. He could have suffocated Yuhan for holding him so tightly for so long. After all, unlike him, he was just a kid.

Ke Ruan then realized Si Yuhan hadn't said a word for a while.

Noticing that Ke Ruan was looking at him, Si Yuhan's eyes began to turn cold. He smiled unnoticeably.

There was nothing he should be struggling about.

People who should be dead would die no matter what.

A pair of slightly cold hands suddenly held his face. His right hand, which was about to hurt Ke Ruan, suddenly froze.

Next, he felt warm lips pressed on his lips.

Si Yuhan's pupils were dilated. Looking at the face closely, the maliciousness in his eyes were completely replaced by pure shock.

Before he could do anything, a breath of air was blown into his mouth. Si Yuhan was frozen completely. He couldn't move. He couldn't breathe. He even forgot to struggle to break free.

Bathed in dim moonlight, Si Yuhan heard the river flowing, bird singing, and his own heart beating fast.

After finishing the artificial respiration, Ke Ruan didn't forget to chek on Si Yuhan to see if he had recovered.

But he could only see Si Yuhan's sullen face and it startled him. What had went wrong?

Yep. After Si Yuhan came to his senses, he felt furious. Only this time, he didn't hide it at all.

His fists and teeth were clenched tightly. He glared at Si Yuhan and felt his rage was about to burst out of his chest and crush Ke Ruan completely.

How could he...? How dared he!

Ke Ruan felt increasingly guilty under his gaze.

"Young Master, Young Master..."

Lin Qingye and the soldiers' voice came from the shore. Ke Ruan secretly sighed with relief.

He ignored the leading character's dreadful gaze on purpose, grabbed him and jumped right on the shore.

Seeing Ke Ruan was safe, Lin Qingye felt relieved. He came forward hurridely.

"Young Master, are you hurt? Is everything alright?"

Ke Ruan shook his head and said, "I'm fine. Don't worry, General Lin."

"Young Master, you are injured." Lin Qingye immediately saw the wound on Ke Ruan's left arm.

Once he brought this up, Ke Ruan felt acute pain from his arm.

After running for so long with the injury, Ke Ruan was extremely weak now. At first, it was his willpower that was supporting him. But once he was relaxed, he lost all his energy and couldn't even stand still.

Lin Qingye hurriedly helped him to his feet.

Ke Ruan said powerlessly, "I'm ok."

Lin Qingye looked at Si Yuhan with a complicated and blaming look. He knew clearly that if it were not for him, Ke Ruan wouldn't have been hurt this bad.

"Young Master, please, put Mr. Si down for a while."

Ke Ruan, however, didn't let go of Si Yuhan immediately. Instead, he lowered his head, looked at him and smiled, saying gently, "Can you walk on your own?"

Before Si Yuhan could replay, Lin Qingye called the nearest soldier to come and said, "You, carry Mr. Si on your back."

The soldier came forward and got down on his knee.

Si Yuhan said coldly, " No need." Then he fixed his eyes on Ke Ruan's pale face. He pupils shrunk, "Put me down."

"Are you sure?"

Si Yuhan frowned. Why did Ke Ruan have to be so annoying? Did I look that weak to him?

"I am sure."

Seeing that Si Yuhan was indeed not injured, Ke Ruan signed with relief and gently put him on the ground.
