2:55 am, lee donghyuck's house.
donghyuck stared at his reflection in the
mirror, disgusted at what he sees. ugliness, that
was what he saw.
he had never liked his appearance, and the
only thing that made him feel better
was acting as if he liked himself. but, that plan kind of backfired considering how many people now
see him as an extreme narcissist.
what people didn't know though, was that
lee donghyuck liked another thing other than himself.
the other thing was a certain chinese boy
that would always be fascinated by the stars.
just as he was about to call the other he receives
a message.

almost immediately, donghyuck runs outside
to find his friend. "hyuck!" the other
says cheerfully. he was standing on some sort of
podium, waving his arms for the
other to see. "come here and look
into the telescope!"
looking into the lens, donghyuck saw a distinctive "W" shape formed by five bright stars. the constellation looked like it was the easiest to spot. "what is it called?"
he asked. "cassiopeia" renjun says.
"she boasted that her beauty was greater than
that of the sea nymphs" the chinese continued,
donghyuck feeling guilt eating him up from
inside. "so then, as a punishment she was
placed in the sky by the gods." the shorter
concluded.
"renjun im—" donghyuck was cut off by a hand
caressing his cheeks, "hyuck, i want you
to be placed in the sky with honor. not as a
punishment." the boy says.
teardrops dropping from the korean's
eyes, renjun knew. he knew that donghyuck
didnt truly love himself. he knew that
he was just pretending to, yet why was his
words so impactful it made him want
to cry?
"you're beautiful, haechan-ah."
