Over the next few days, Percy decided to move into Cabin 3 where as Bella refused to so much as look at it. Bella seemed depressed and always sitting by the camp fire. She held no love for her "father" and she did not forgive him. When she returned to her room at night, Luke always say with her and talked. Bella was having trouble dealing with this new information.
"You know I'm not even mad that he left. It happens every day with dead beat dads. I'm mad at the fact that when I was younger he was one of my favorite gods to read about. I loved the water. Percy and I were always was at our best near the water. I think I'm more disappointed than anything else. To know your favorite person isn't what you thought they were, it hurts. To know that my dad didn't have to be there personally, he could have sent someone when we needed someone there, it is devastating. Actions speak louder than words more times than not. His actions basically tell us that he doesn't care enough about us to be there. He didn't care about mom. Percy is holding on to a piece of hope because he claimed us, but would he have even done that if Percy didn't almost die? I don't think so." Bella said quietly while Luke listened feeling bad for her
Luke thought he had it bad with his dad but if was honest with himself his dad was there when it counted. He wasn't there physically but he left his kids useful gifts. Poseidon did nothing except to now make sure Percy healed. Luke sent a quick prayer to his dad in thanks for at least the attempt. Luke hugged Bella tight as she cried a bit on his shoulder. A couple more days passed and Bella openly sat with the Hermes cabin at dinner. She continued as if nothing ever happened. Mr. D understood what she was doing and chuckled when Bella came forward and made him a drink and presented a rum and coke chocolate cake for dessert. Chiron noticed and turned to Mr. D.
"Shouldn't she be sitting at Poseidon's table like her brother?" Chiron asked
"Her father claimed her brother even I noticed the hesitation in claiming Bella. He claimed them but this is the girls way of saying she won't claim him. If you continue to watch Peter is being offered to sit with them. He can do so. I won't stop him but he has to stay in his father's cabin at night." Mr. D said
Percy followed his sister over to the Hermes tables before Bella froze and turned to Percy.
"You said you feel bad for leaving and going to Him. Say a quick prayer so that the Hermes cabin can use those tables. These are way over crowded and the kids are literally either on the floor or on top of each other. You do that and we're good again." Bella said
The respect of the Hermes cabin couldn't be higher for Bella. They considered her their "queen" so to speak. Percy quickly did a prayer before the ground shook slightly.
"They may use the seating, Percy. May this also please your sister." A voice said in Percy's head
Bella noticed and turned to the Hermes cabin.
"We just got the three tables we can now use. Those on the floor and on top of others. Get up and sit properly. No ifs, ands, or buts." Bella said
Suddenly children were hopping up and thanking Percy before darting to a table. Percy watched as those kids filled up two and a half tables comfortably. Percy began to see his point of view.
"This shouldn't be happening, Percy. These kids deserve so much better. They have to fight for their lives to get here. The lucky ones have a parent who gives a damn and makes sure they get here, but the others didn't even have that. Hermes as the god of travelers takes in everyone, so why can't the gods who don't have children of their own do the same? He only had two kids but three tables. Thunder had one but three tables. King of the Dead doesn't even get acknowledged and neither do the other minor gods and goddesses who have children here stuck in Hermes cabin because they have nowhere to go. I can only do so much, Percy. I will not beg the Gods to do their jobs as parents. They're the adults. I shouldn't have to do that." Bella ranted coldly before storming away
Luke went after her and brought her back an hour later to eat. The rest of the time was spent eating and never mentioning the Gods around Bella. Bella invented with the Hephaestus cabin. She sparred with Clarisse often as well as Luke. Bella was doing well with a sword but the only ones who could beat her with a bow is the older children of  Apollo's cabin. She was often challenged and always came in second but she was determined to one day come in first. She was getting back to normal. Bella put Poseidon out of her mind. She acted like his voice didn't exist in her mind. Percy almost felt bad for Poseidon. He had read up on him. Poseidon never had any demigod daughters according to what he could find. He always had sons. Bella would be his first. Percy just shook his head and stayed out of it. Bella didn't stay around Chiron because he often would try and get Bella to forgive her father and understand why he did what he did. Bella and Chiron would not see eye to eye on this subject so she just avoided him. She started doing tutoring sessions for the younger demigod kids for any cabin. Bella made a game out of it using archery, sword play, running, and prizes. The kids loved it and Bella was desperate to keep her mind busy. Luke noticed that Bella was barely eating but Percy was oblivious to it. Luke grabbed her at dinner and pulled her in his lap as well as grabbing a plate of food. Bella squeaked and blinked curiously at the food.
"You are not leaving until you clear that plate." Luke said to her
The older Hermes kids suddenly understood what was happening as did a few Athena and Aphrodite girls who immediately stopped eating.
"Luke, I'm not hungry." Bella said looking at him weirdly
"Uh huh when was the last time you say down and had a meal?" Luke asked
"This morning." Bella said
"No you made yourself a plate then made a memosa for Mr. D before you remembered you had something to work on at the Hephaestus cabin. You dumped your plate in the fire with a prayer and ran off." Luke said
Bella actually thought about it then tried to remember the last time she ate.
"Bella, you haven't eaten a meal in days and you haven't had a good sleep since you found out about your Dad. Please eat." Luke pleaded
Bella looked at him. She knew she was a bit down over Poseidon being her dad. One of the Athena girls came over as did Clarisse.
"Think of it this way, you can't let him do make you like this." Clarisse said in support
"Yea you need to take care of yourself. A lot of campers depend on you." The Athena girl said
Bella looked at her plate before picking up the hamburger and taking a bite. Luke grinned widely while the two girls went back to their tables. Bella decided then and there that she could accept that she was demigod with a messed up family. She had no reason to be ashamed because she had cousins everywhere to help her. Bella would not acknowledge Poseidon. She simply refused to acknowledge the god as anymore than that after never so much as a peep from him for 16 years. She would simply moving on from him. She was going to let him go as he did them.
