[ Chapter Six ]

[ Movie 1 - The Princess Diaries ]

WE HAD JUST PICKED UP MIA, from her school just a couple of minutes ago in the limousine. We were driving her, well more like my father was, to the Genovian Consulate to meet up with her grandmother, my aunt. I leaned my head against the headrest before jumping slightly when Mia popped her head in between the divider to look at me.

"Hey, Gwyn?" Mia called out to me, and I turned my head to face her, giving my older cousin my full attention

"Yes, cousin?" I asked her patiently with a small smile on my lips and in return, she smiled back at me

"I'm gonna turn the back seat into a dressing room so I can change into a proper outfit for Madame, ok?" Mia asked me and I nodded my head before reaching underneath my seat

"Ok, just don't forget these. They're your shoes." I told my cousin, passing her the black box which she gladly took

"Oh, thanks." Mia thanked me as she went to place the box by where she was and I nodded my head at her

"Strange town, San Francisco. When I purchased the pumps, they asked if I wanted to wear them." My Dad revealed a small piece of information Mia causing her to laugh lightly

"All right, closing," My Dad said, cutting off any conservation that was bound to happen afterward

Mia nodded her head, slowly backing away and crawling to the backseat with the box of heels in her hold. Double-checking that she was in a safe-distance, my Dad pressed the button to rise the divider up, blocking us and her from each other's views. I shifted my attention my feet and sighed, taking off my sandals and placing them inside my bag, taking out a pair of black heels in the process.

"Going up." My father told both Mia and I a beforehand warning before he started to drive uphill

I adjusted my position on the seat to get more comfortable before carefully putting on my heels. I sighed in relief before frowning when I heard a slight thud coming from the back of the limo. I shared a concerned look with my Dad before he nodded towards me.

"You okay, Mia?" I asked my cousin in concern, my voice louder so she could hear me over the divider

"Yeah, I-I'm fine," Mia assured me and I sighed in relief, in content that she was fine and no harm had come to her

"Going down," My Dad gave us a brief warning and my body leaned forward before I forced myself to lean against the seat

"I've never put on pantyhose, but it sounds dangerous," My father said to her loudly and I giggled at his words

"The downsides of being a woman," I muttered quietly to my father who gave me a wide-eyed look before looking away

**Genovia's Royalty**

Aunt Clarisse, Mia and I were sitting down on our respective seats as the chefs placed their food in front of us. Aunt Clarisse and I were sitting down at the heads of the table, while Mia sat near the former. I gave my cousin a small smile, trying to comfort her due to her being strapped with a Hermes scarf against her chest.

"Grandma? Is it customary in Genovia to imprison your dinner guests with, um, with, Hermeez scarves?" Mia questioned her grandmother as I took a careful sip from my drink

"It's Hermes." I corrected Mia immediately before a blush settled over my face but I willed it to go away

"The scarf is merely a training tool. Eventually, you will learn to sit and eat properly without it. Manners matter. But enough etiquette for the day. Now, Genovia does a lot of trade in Spain, so we prepare for that." Aunt Clarisse informed her granddaughter who tried to reach for the salt, but accidentally knocked it down
