[ Chapter Five ]

[ Movie 1 - The Princess Diaries ]

AUNT CLARISSE AND I WERE WORKING HARD, well actually that was a lie, she was doing the hard work. I, on the other hand, was just passing her the papers as she signed them on the bottom. Within a few seconds, Charlotte entered the office and went to stand in front of the desk.

"Your majesty, the Diplomatic Pouch has arrived, and she's here," Charlotte stated as she handed Aunt Clarisse the item

Aunt Clarisse gently took out the red leather book from inside its packaging. I took it out of her hands and gently held it, turning it on its backside and admiring the color. I nodded my head and shared a grin with the blonde woman beside me.

"Send her in." Aunt Clarisse told Charlotte as I handed her the red leather book back into her hands

"Yes, ma'am," Charlotte said to her, nodding her head before she walked away from the office and headed down the hall

**Genovia's Royalty**

"Charlotte, take notes, will you? Amelia, circle slowly so I can evaluate the work to be done. Amelia! Does your bad posture affect your hearing? Turn." Aunt Clarisse demanded to Mia after she clapped her hands, snapping Mia out of her thoughts

"Oh, sorry." Mia apologized to grandma even though grandma was a bit rude to her before and did as she was told

"No, no, no. Slowly, turn. Slowly. Thank you. Well, carriage, obviously. Hairstyle. Complexion...stop! Eyes...lovely...but hidden beneath bushman's eyebrows. The neck is seemly. Amelia's ears...like her father." Aunt Clarisse pointed out to Charlotte, Mia, and me with a small grin on her face as she walked around us

"Really? They are?" Mia asked her in her shock as she let her hands wander to her to caress them a bit

"Yes, they're a reason why Pierre, Sebastiano, and I called him Big Ears," I informed Mia with a smirk at my lips causing Aunt Clarisse to laugh

"Oh, my! Who has nails like these?" Aunt Clarisse asked my cousin in disbelief as she tugged her wrist and showed Mia's glittery nails to Charlotte and me

"Everybody," Mia answered her, her voice soft as she glanced at her nails and then up to her grandmother

"Well, tomorrow I would like to see clean fingers and you will wear stockings. Not tights, not socks, and I never want to see those shoes again." Aunt Clarisse demanded from us and I sighed, shaking my head at her tone

**Genovia's Royalty**

"When walking in a crowd, one is under scrutiny all the time." Aunt Clarisse began to speak as she demonstrated how to walk

"So we don't schlump, like this," Aunt Clarisse added afterward as she walked once more but her shoulders were slouched low

I gave my cousin a look of encouragement, and she nodded her head with a wide grin spreading across her lips. She straightened her back and thrust out her shoulders forward a bit, and her head tilted a bit up before she began following her grandmother's movements. From the corner of my eye, I could see Charlotte hiding her laughter behind her hand.

**Genovia's Royalty**

"We drop the shoulders, we think tall...we tuck under, and we transfer the weight from one foot to--" Aunt Clarisse was saying as she stood tall, and from where she sat and I could see her shoulders stiffening

Charlotte and I both shared a laugh causing her to stop talking, staring at the both of us in confusion. Of course, Aunt Clarisse quickly caught on to what had happened and turned her head over her shoulder. Thankfully by that time, Mia had stopped making funny faces behind her back.

**Genovia's Royalty**

"No. Princesses never cross their legs in public." Aunt Clarisse lightly scolded my sister whos sat beside her on a chair

I took a sip of the cool water, savoring the coldness of it before placing it down on the table. I couldn't help but smile when I remembered the lessons that my mother instilled in me when I was younger before she passed away. I couldn't help but smile in amusement when I noticed that Charlotte copied the movements.

" Why don't you just tuck one ankle behind the other and place the hands gracefully on the knees." Aunt Clarisse demonstrated to Mia who went closer to the edge but before anyone could stop her, she toppled over to the floor with a slight shriek

"Charlotte, I think it's time for tea," Aunt Clarisse informed Charlotte and I as I stood up, rushing to my fallen cousin
