Iyon ang chat sa akin ni Jax after I ranted that I do not have a gift yet!
Medyo kumunot ang noo ko roon sa reply niya. Sasamahan niya akong bumili ng gift for Grant? Seriously?
Cali Gonzalez: Really?
Jax Pereira: Oo naman, pero hindi na ako bibili ng gift! Hindi naman ako invited!
Since the invitation was sent to his father and they're still not talking, Jax couldn't go to the party. Sabi ko nga ay humingi na lang ulit siya ng invitation, wala naman sigurong kaso iyon pero ayaw na rin niya. Everything has a purpose raw. Ewan ko sa kanya!
Jax and I went to the mall together. Sasamahan niya akong bumili ng gift. Dahil sobrang cautious nila Mommy, may nakasunod pa rin sa akin na mga body guards.
I really don't have an idea what to get, so I decided to check on some high end brands. Baka may makita ako sa mga iyon. We went to Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Giorgio Armani, and Gucci. But still, nothing!
I sighed. "Should I just get a pair of shoes or perfume or what?"
Ngumuso naman si Jax. "Alam mo, kayang-kaya naman bilhin ni Grant iyang mga 'yan, eh..." aniya. "If I were you, I'll buy something that matters to the person. Iyong may meaning? Iyong may sentimental value? Iyang mga mamahalin na iyan, normal na lang iyan na regalo para sa kanya."
He's right! Ano kaya ang bagay na maa-appreciate ni Grant? I was thinking very hard when Nyeam suddenly popped out of my head! Oh my gosh!
"Jax, do you know a store where I can buy anything duck related?" tanong ko at parang mas naguluhan siya sa akin.
Jax brought me to a stall outside the mall. There are so many items that you can buy! Jax said that we're at tianggy. I think that's the brand?
"Baka may mahanap ka rito sa tiangge," sabi pa niya.
"Why is it so mura, Jax? Is this illegal or something?" I can't help not to ask!
Jax laughed at me. "Hindi... Mura lang talaga rito sa tianggian."
Ang tagal naming nag-ikot. I almost jumped when I saw these colored socks with duck embroidery!
"Ang cute!" I whispered and got the socks in every color available. I even got the pink one!
I was debating whether I should buy something pa or if the socks were enough already. It was so mura kasi! Parang like 500 pesos lang ang nagastos ko...
"Shall we check LV?" I asked Jax when we passed by Louis Vuitton.
"No amount of pricey gifts can beat a meaningful one, Cal..." Jax said as he ruffled my hair. "Sentimental value, remember? Magugustuhan niya iyan, promise!"
I nodded my head. Tama si Jax. And this is Nyeam, embroided on a socks! Grant will like this! 'Di ba? Siguro naman...
Grant's party was a formal one. I wore a simple yet elegant beige off shoulder lace gown. I really love how it turned out.
Both of my parents will join me because they are also invited.
The venue was really big, sa isang hotel iyon at talaga namang pinaghandaan. The party looked extravagant.
Mabilis kong itinago iyong dalang paperbag sa likuran ko nang nakita iyong isang lamesa na puno ng mga regalo. The high end brand names were screaming on the table! Muli akong napatingin sa plain na color brown paperbag na dala ko. Wala namang masama rito, ah? It was the thought that counts! Jax is right!
Tumabi ako kanila Xuri. Mom and Dad were both mingling with other business partners.
"This is like the biggest party of the year," Xuri said while sipping on her wine. She looked so gorgeous on her black satin gown with a deep v neckline.
