Layered sounds of wine glasses clinking swept the room. Everyone cheered, whooped, and hollered at the news. I was the new owner of Weston Enterprises™.

My father, Curtis Shabazz, is the emperor behind it all. Today, he signed over his business credentials through a conference Skype call with our lawyers.

Let me give you the rundown...

I'm Kurticey Shabazz, a twenty-three year old student at Delaware State University. It is the only Historically Black College in my home state of Delaware. I am on an entrepreneurial tract, currently studying for my masters so that I may open my own firms someday.

Let's backtrack a bit further....

My father is a self-made South African billionaire. He created Westlawn Peaks, which is the multinational franchise that established Weston Ent.

Now, that entire enterprise is under my name and ownership. Tonight, my dad orchestrated a small gathering of his peers so that I may celebrate and learn about the business.

But, in all actuality, I already know the business. I've been in it my entire life. What I really plan on doing at this party is networking to build a team for my future personal firm.

Although I come from wealth, privilege, and riches, I have always been taught to not take handouts. So this afternoon's surprise call really threw me in for a loop— a fortunate one, of course.

But the rapid unfolding of it all was just... bizarre... for lack of better words.

"KC! Congratulations," a brunette haired woman embraced me in an expensive rosy scented hug.

Once she pulled away, I recognized her as my dad's officemate—

"Fara! It is great to see you here!" I exclaimed.
