Lost Days (Power Rangers Next-generation story)

Part 4: It was a dark and stormy night

They all had fallen asleep, as the storm grew worse over the night until at midnight the window blew open waking up Leah and Logan then the thunder let out a terrifying roar waking up Mason and Tamara. Before they had a chance to close the window, lighting struck the tree outside crashing through the window terrifying Mason, waking up Connor in the process "it's fine guys I can fix it" Leah reassured them, she pushed the branches out of the window closing it before anything else could get in "see I told you I-" each stated before getting cut off. "What the hell is that!?!" Mason stuttered pointing at the seemly glowing floorboard "guys..." "what the fuck" Connor chimed in, Logan and Leah leaned in to get a closer look. They pulled up the floorboard "is that-" Logan marvelled "I think it is" Leah finished, the others went over just to stare in shock, "that's where they've been all this time " Mason muttered "what should we do" Tamara asked. They all stared at the glow in front of them, The Power Morphers, the things their parents once used to be heroes, right there hidden under floorboards in front of their faces. Their hearts were racing their minds going blank trying to figure out everything, the who, what, when, where, how and why of the whole situation. But before they even had time to ask anything, the Power Morphers began to glow, calling out to the kids, out of instinct Logan reached in and picked up the blue one "this has to be a joke right our folks knew we were gonna come here right" Logan joked. "We don't know that Logan what if it's not a joke and those are the real Power Morphers" Tamara warned. The Power Morphers started hovering and went to each kid all except for the pink one, Leah reached and grabbed the green one. "Are you sure this is a joke? This thing looks pretty real to me, " Leah retorted, "my dad is good with computers," Logan explained. "Yeah I mean Connor told them "are you sure that's a good idea" Mason questioned "maybe, maybe not the only way to figure it out is to try" he insisted, 'we'll all try" Tamara confirmed, patting Mason on the back "are you sure," Mason asked "with every ounce of my being" she replied, they all stood up and took deep breaths. They all shared a look before uttering the words to activate the Power Morphers. They each went activating their Power Morphers.

"It's Morphin Time! Tyrannosaurus!"

"It's Morphin Time! Mastodon!"

"It's Morphin Time! Triceratops!"

"It's Morphin Time! DragonZord!"

"It's Morphin Time! Sabertooth Tiger!"

Everything flashed a bright light seemingly teleporting in a bunch of colours, the kids reappeared in a cave wearing very different clothes than what the formal wear they had on before. Logan was wearing a blue outfit with white accents. He looked at himself in a puddle "Woah can't believe it worked" he smiled, he looked at the others each wearing a different version of the same thing except for Leah who had a gold chest plate. Leah's head was spinning trying to figure out what just happened. "Good job genius, those were the real Power Morphers" Connor snapped "hey we all did it," Tamara told him. As they fought Mason stared at himself looking at the uniform he was wearing. "You alright?" Leah asked him tapping on his shoulder startling him "yeah I am it's just weird, you know this is exactly what she wore when she-" he trailed off. "I get it, it's weird being in my dad's uniform. I mean who did he move with this chest thing " she laughed. Mason smiled at her cheering up a bit "now come on let's check on the others" she added. The two of them walked over just to be met with Connor fighting with Tamara and Logan "what the hell is going on!" Mason interrupted "this dingus got us to use the Power Morphers and now we're stuck here" Connor yelled, "Woah dude relax we can figure out a way to get out of here" Leah assured walking over to him. They looked around it confused, finally fully taking in everything in their surroundings. "I'm wearing my dad's uniform" Tamara chuckled, they all looked down at their uniforms "why did we want Rangers exactly these uniforms are awful" Logan joked "yeah they are so out of date how did our parents fight in these" Leah added.They all laughed before stopping and going back to looking around. The cave was big and damp with random leaks and puddles all over, they explored around trying to find clues on how to get out looking under every rock trying to find an exit. "AAHHH!" Tamara screamed, Leah rushed to her "What's going on" she yelled ."Spider!" Tamara stuttered, Leah calmed her down sitting her down on a rock. "What's with Tammy" Mason questioned "she is terrified of spiders" Leah explained calming Tamara down "wait there's a spider," Mason said panicky. Logan walked over to them "you said spider didn't you" Logan smirked "I forgot" Leah admitted smiling at her mistake, Logan the four of them laughed about it. Connor walked over "so I can't find a way out of here" he shrugged "come here we can come up with something," Leah remarked. They sat in silence trying to figure out a plan and in that silence, they heard a noise, something that seemed out of place in a cave. Leah jumped up grabbing a dagger from her pocket and holding it up as soon as she did so that Logan took notice and got up ready to fight, the others soon followed "what's the plan" Mason inquired "we don't have a plan" Leah confessed. They looked around, noticing a shadow on the wall they stared at, watching the shadow on the wall. "Ay Yi Yi" the figure spoke as it turned the corner "is that-" Tamara asked "Alpha 5!?!" Mason exclaimed. Leah dropped her weapon at the sight of the creature. The figure was short and robotic but light years ahead of anything on earth but at the same time had an almost vintage feel to it. The kids all backed down "Tiny Rangers we've been waiting for you" Alpha told them "follow me and Zordon will explain everything to you" he continued before walking away. They followed, still confused about what was going on. "Zordon" Logan mouthed to Leah, she shrugged, not sure what to say finally they came to the command centre. Mason ran around admiring the tech "he's like a kid in a candy store" Tamara remarked "yeah he gets excited about this kind of this" Logan chuckled "come on don't be shy guys" alpha 5 told them they stepped onto the platform waiting for something to happen. A large voice echoed around the command centre "Rangers you have returned- you aren't the Rangers" the voice exclaimed they all shared a look of confusion. Leah stepped up to the hologram before them "Zordon we are the children of the Power Rangers" she told him "the Power Morphers turned on during the storm we used them to see what would happen" She further explained, "YOU PETULANT CHILD HOW DARE YOU TAKE THE POWER MORPHERS!" Zordon snapped Tamara and Mason cowered because of the noise. "THESE ARE OUR BIRTHRIGHT THEY CALLED TO US WE WOULDN'T HAVE GRABBED THEM IF YOU DIDN'T ACTIVATE THE SIGNAL" she yelled standing her ground, Zordon looked at her "you're just like your father," he told her calming down. Connor walked up to Zordon "why were the signals activated and why did they call to us the way they did?" He questioned "we have reason to believe Rita has returned" Zordon explained. They all stood in shock "how is Rita still alive I thought that they killed her" Tamara exclaimed "she was smart and had backup plans if she wanted she could have made a clone" Zordon told them "no way this can't be real our parents have to be in charge of this like it's a training exercise" Connor denied. "What if it is what if it isn't we can't just walk away from this" Tamara told him off. "Maybe but we don't know for sure " Connor argued, "we can't just walk away from this, what about our parents?" Tamara debated. "Who cares if Zordon needs Rangers then he can find someone else" He scoffed "this is the chance Ace you wanted to be the leader since we were little" Leah chimed in "so things change" he retorted. Leah looked at him "I know you still want to, you just don't want to be in his shadow" she sympathized "do you think I want to be like my dad no but we were chosen this is our birthright whether you like it or not" she countered. Connor stopped and looked down at his uniform than at the others "you're right, I hate it when you're right" he nodded rolling his eyes. Mason patted him on the back "we all have big shoes to fill" he smiled. They all looked at each other "Zordon this is the last question why were the Power Morphers hidden in the clubhouse" Mason inquired "after the last battle where they lost your mother they refused to use the Power Morphers hiding in the one place no one would look'' Zordon answered. Mason looked down "your mother was a strong warrior, one of the best I had seen in over a millennium" he continued. Mason grinned and Leah patted him on the back smiling "so what now" Tamara asked. Leah smiled "should head back to the clubhouse we do need to sleep" they all agreed, walking out of the command centre before they could get out the Base was attacked by large rock creatures. "You have to be kidding me right." Leah groaned as Mason jumped before running at one of the creatures "how did they get in here" he yelled fighting off the creature. Logan grabbed a stick trying to hit the creature "why are these so hard to fight? our folks said putties were easy henchmen'' he questioned. "Shit!" Logan exclaimed "seriously Logan'' Leah rolled her eyes. She kicked one of the putties jumping up, hitting it again before getting to Logan. "I thought I taught you how to box," she told him, punching the creature to the ground. "Logan turned around!" She screamed "ahhh!" He responded by hitting the creature out of pure reflex "good job" Leah grinned. She ran over to help the others. "She thinks I did a good job" he muttered blushing a bit before running over to the others. Tamara was light on her feet They all fought off the putty's leaving them in the ground "We did it" Connor smiled, they all sighed "we don't have a choice do we" Tamara lamented "yeah I guess so" Logan shrugged "come on guys let's get out of here before they come back" Mason yawned. Zordon teleported them back to the clubhouse causing the Power Morphers to deactivate.
