Chapter 9

You wake up to the smell of waffles and realize you're not alone in the beanbag. Nick isn't on the couch anymore but you can hear her singing in the kitchen. You look down at the tattooed arm around you which finally triggers the memory of last night. It's Gaege cuddled up to you, looking over your shoulder you smile at how calm and peaceful he can be. He mumbles to himself in his sleep and you carefully turn in his arms to snuggle back to him. Still sleeping his arms tighten around you and he shifts a little. You decide to get a little more sleep and let Nick have the kitchen work to herself for once, you situate myself comfortably in Gaege's arms head resting in the crook of his neck and arm draped over him, and easily fall back asleep. A little while later you wake up to Gaege again only this time he's not asleep, "wakey wakey dummy it's time for breakfast." You groan and pull the blanket over your head then wrap your arms back around him desperate for just another hour of sleep. "Aww, you're cute when you're tired." He pulls the blanket off of you and throws you over his shoulder which of course wakes you up quicker than an alarm clock ever could. "Gaege Gibson put me down right now!" You push the hair out of your face and huff. "As you wish." He chuckles and sets you down at the kitchen table across from Nick before taking a seat next to you. "As grumpy as I am to be awake at 7 am I am glad there's food so thank you," you mumble stuffing a fork full of my breakfast into my mouth. For a moment you eat in silence still groggy but as usual, Nick breaks the silence, "you two sure looked cute this morning in the beanbag. All tangled up not a single sliver of personal space." She giggles and you look down at your plate wondering why your best friend insists on being so involved in you and Gaege's relationship and teasing about it. "Yeah, I woke up to a static arm but it was nice." Gaege smiles a bit and glances at you. "It was pretty comfy so I'm not complaining," You smirk down at your waffles. "Both of you are single and clearly you two click so why don't you just date already?" Nick gives you both a look while she absentmindedly pokes at her eggs with a fork. "We actually jokingly made a pact a few weeks ago that if we didn't find someone we wanted to date in a month we would date each other." You sip orange juice and earn a shocked look from your roommate. "I wasn't joking, we shook on it." Gaege looks at you with a serious look painted on his perfect face. "I actually found someone I'd be willing to date" he continues. "You have a girl you want to date but you came over to my house and slept over and cuddled me?" You set your fork down. It hits your plate with a clatter, somehow not distracting from your frustration towards Gaege. "Let me explain, it's not like that." He gives Nick a look as if he's pleading for her help but she just stares at him with astonishment. "I'm going to my room. Let yourself out." You stand up from the table but he catches your wrist as you try to walk away and begins laughing, "Hey idiot I want to date you not another girl. I never even cared to find anyone else, you've had my attention since day one." He stands up pulling you into a huge bear hug. "So.... be my girlfriend?" He chuckles pulling away and holding up what looks like friendship bracelets. You punch his arm and smile, "fine I'll date you... even though you're loud and moody sometimes and get on my nerves." The biggest grin emerges and he tells you to hold out your hand, you comply and he puts the bracelet on your wrist. The beaded bracelet says Lil Goosey, you smile and hug him again before grabbing his wrist and admiring his bracelet which of course reads King Goosey. "Oh and I got these too, he pulls a small box out of his pocket and hands it to you, you open it revealing a set of those bracelets that connect magnetically when you hold hands. "Gaege you didn't have to buy this." You look up at him and he shrugs putting the bracelet on your wrist next to the other, "I had already bought them as kinda like friendship bracelets but now since you agreed to be my girlfriend they're definitely special." He slips his bracelet on and holds out his hand. You take it, the bracelets connect with a small click, "Told you, you guys totally click," Nick giggles at her joke and the fact that she kinda ruined the moment. Gaege looks down at his watch, "ah shit I got a boys meeting to get to, we gotta approve the new Merch I'll see you guys later." He leans down and kisses your forehead, "If it's cool though can me and Kevin come over later? We can build LEGO's and I'll bring snacks and stuff. I'll even bring you another one of my hoodies." You nod and hand him his keys then wrap your arms around him, "you're gonna be late I'll see you later dummy." You stand on your toes and plant a kiss on his cheek then wave goodbye as he climbs into his car.
