Kaname sighed in frustration. She wasn't meant to know any of that just yet. Her parents had powers for the four elements, so did she. She just didn't know, well he hoped she didn't know. He also didn't want her to know that she had started the fire the night her parents died. Her powers came early and she lost control because she was scared. The fire spread to engulf the whole house. Kaname had ran in looking for anyone who was alive, her mother smiled and gave her to him and asked that he looked out for her. Kaname was the reason why she survived.

Remembering that night pained him. He wanted to save them all, but he couldn't.

I sat in a corner and cried my eyes out. My parents, they were dead and the memory brought back the reason that they were dead.... It was because of me. I started a fire and spread it. My mother had comforted me and I eventually fell asleep. When I woke up, that was when I was told that my parents had died.

I was starting to remember things from before my parents had died, that was one thing that I liked about being Different. Our memories developed as soon as we were born, so we remember when we're babies, I hated how my memory was so poor.

That afternoon I walked home by myself and went straight to my room. I put my books away, took my contacts out and got changed into my other uniform. I was nervous about starting at another school but I was too upset to worry or let my anxiety get the best of me.

"Kaname told me what happened." I jumped and turned around to see Emiko standing just inside the door. "What did he tell you?" I asked. "He told me about the history lesson your teacher gave you and how you found out about your parents. He told me he told you about the rumor." He told her everything? I sighed. "I know it's bothering you. Probably that we didn't tell you." "Why didn't you?" "We weren't one hundred percent sure you were their daughter until today. The rumor, we doubt it's true. But there have been sightings of people who look like them." I sat on my bed. If it was true, if my parent were alive, why hadn't they come back for me? Did the fire ruin everything? Did they hate me for what had happened? I couldn't hold the tears back. I wanted answers that no one knew. "Kaname is worried about you. He knows that this is bothering you and has upset you, but remember this, your parents are with you no matter what and we are your family now." Emiko said and left. It took me a while to get myself together. Once I did, I headed to my first day at my new school.

I went to roll call first. Everyone was around my age, everyone in my roll call was between fifteen and seventeen. I walked over to the teacher and gave him the note Emiko had told me to give to ny teachers. "Take a seat Miss Hideki." I nodded and moved to the back of the room and took a seat next to a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. She looked rather normal. "Hi, you must be the new student." She said. I nodded. "Yes, that would be me." She smiled and held out her hand. "My name is Emily." I smiled and took her hand. "Kanade."

The teacher started speaking then. "Two weeks from now will be our Years Fitness test. Each and everyone of you will be tested to see how fit you are abd where you need to improve. The swimming test however will take place two days after." "I love the fitness test." Emily said. I looked over at her and watched as her changed to hot pink. My smile disappeared. I hated fitness testing. I was completely unfit and always got embarrassed when teacher told me so, especially when they told me in front of other students.

"What's the matter?" "I don't like fitness. I've never been good at it." Emily put a hand on my shoulder. "Hey, don't worry. Everyone here isn't as good as Normals and the teachers write a report telling us where we can improve. They don't tell us publicly." She explained. I smiled. I felt relieved.
