We pass each other
Day after day.
In the hallway,
On our way to class.
You walk with your head low,
Eyes to the ground.
Not making a sound,
Silently listening, watching.
You think no one pays attention
To your successes,
To your failures, to you
But I do - I do!
All i want is for you
To notice me. To
Pay attention to something
Other than your shoes
Something other than the floor.
Etched with meaningless marks.
Look up for once; look at me!
Let me see your eyes.
Are they full of compassion?
Hatred? Fear? Anger?
Are they void of emotion?
I want to know.
So please, look up;
At the sky, at the clouds.
View the beauty of the world!
Let me see the reflection of it all
In your eyes.
