Jamie and Charlie seem to have only one thing in common: they both grew up in the same suffocating hometown.
Jamie Black is an all-star quarterback, with the expectations of the entire town on his shoulders, all while dealing with a devas...

Charlie couldn't help but squirm in the itchy polyester gown that had been given to her a week prior.
The hot Georgia sun didn't help the matter either, as sweat beaded down her legs and caused the unforgiving material to cling to her bronzed skin more.
Pushing the navy fabric off her sun-kissed shoulders, Charlie attempted to let the strong afternoon breeze evaporate her humid skin.
Shirley, the one grocery store clerk in town, told her this morning that it would be ninety-eight degrees out today, and oh, did the weather commit to that.
She eyed some of the dark clouds piling up in the far distance and tried to pray that they would move faster, and when that didn't work, she tried manifesting it too.
Clearly, watching a thirty-minute YouTube video about manifesting one's life didn't sink in well enough, or the bubbly influencer who had been explaining the whole situation was a two-faced liar.
Securing her dark locks into a sloppy ponytail that would look effortless on an A-lister but made her look haphazard, Charlie took six (rather embarrassing) gulps of unsatisfactory lukewarm water that had been given to her when she signed in over forty minutes ago. She was beginning to seriously contemplate ditching this place when a shadow slowly bled across her face.
Charlie wanted to exhale in relief as her flaming cheeks began to cool, but that was before she realized whose shadow had now occupied her space. June Carter.
June was a nice enough girl for the most part, except for the time when she pushed Charlie into Forest Lake "accidentally" when they were twelve. June claims that she tripped, but Charlie knew that it was because she wanted to skitter into the same canoe as Joe Miranda. Gangly and freckled-face Joe Miranda.
She would have explained to June that she had absolutely no interest in Joe whatsoever, but it's difficult to do that when you're viciously coughing up murky lake water.
Since then, as you can probably guess, June and Charlie hadn't really connected per se. That is unless June needed something done for the student body.
June was the head of countless clubs at South River High ever since she ran as VP in ninth grade and has worked her way up the high school political ladder since.
Charlie would bet fifty bucks that even June couldn't keep track of her collegiate portfolio at this point.
"Charlie, hey, can you help some of the band members move the tables from the band trailer to the field?" She asked, almost sickly sweet, head tilting in a way that reminded Charlie of a bird.
