ONE

Carina's POV

The first day of hell...School.                                                                                             

I'm up getting ready to start my makeup when my phone buzzes.

Hey sweetie! It's our first day of senior year! I'll see you in 10 ;) Shit. I'm nowhere near ready. My hair is a mess, my face is bland and, I don't even have an outfit. Forget it.

  I throw my hair in a bun, put on my Nike sweatsuit and, my Airmax. Next thing you know I hear a loud engine revving outside. I grab my bag and run out of the house to be met with Kayla and her lime green hellcat.

"Heyy! What's up with the style for the day?" I look up and down at myself and, decided to stay silent. Kayla took that as a guess if I'm not in the mood.

The rest of the ride was silent.

As we pull up to hell I notice we're late. We jump out the car and rush into the school. "See you later sweetie!" Kayla shouts as she starts to run the other way. As I keep running down the hallway as soon as I turn the corner I crash into something hard and fall.

"The hell is your problem?" I calm voice with a bit of anger says. I freeze and look up at him.

It's Cadence Leron. The popular boy lone wolf . His hair is Jet black straight that he slicks back most days. He's pretty tall and, has a nice build. Not to buff. He has one sleeve tattoo but, both hands covered. Most people are scared of him. He doesn't phase me. But he is rude.

He looks at me with a cocked brow as I help myself up. He stares.

"you look like shit. first day of senior year too?" I froze. No Question. No answer. "Well, deuces. Hope you have fun looking like shit today" he says as he turns the corner. I have no time to think about what just happened rush into class.

"Your late Carina" Fuck.  "I'm sorry sir." I say staring at the back of the classroom. "Well since your late you have to sit there" The teacher points at the chair in between the two most annoying and funny boys in the school. I've still have managed to ignore them everywhere since 9th grade.

I walk to the seat they have matching grins on their faces.

Ugh. the twins.

"Carina" they say with their sly grins matching in such unison. " Adam, Aiden" I just nod at them and sit down. "so why ya late darling?" "mind your business adam" Aiden pulls my desk a little closer to his.

"Oh, adam does it matter? She's here now. and right next to us." All of a sudden a pen drops. I look to the front and see the teacher staring at us. I plead my case and, Adam and Aiden raise their hands in surrender.

The rest of the day goes by fast and I meet Kayla at my locker. When I get there she is standing with Jaden; her boyfriend. "sweetie what took you so long?" she says with a frown. Jaden has his arms wrapped around her and gives me a small smile. "hey. i'm just really tired and ready to go."

I'm truly tired.

The first day back already kicked my ass and, I had , already have to deal with cadence and the ins today. "ok fine but you have to come to the party." I'm so confused. "you didn't."

Kayla gasp. "You forgot the biggest party of the year. Welp just come on. I'll drop you off home so you can ready and, you can drive there yourself because I think I'll be a little late" Kayla looks up and winks at Jaden. The two of them have been at it since the start of junior year. It didn't phase me though.

I never really thought about getting with somebody since Caleb.

"you! you are the reason I'm in this position in the first place. You didn't care that night. you wouldn't let me know who did it but you let it happen" fury in the pit of your stomach boils as you and Caleb are standing in the rain yelling at each other. "you know what. I'm done carina. do you it wasn't my fault that happened to you that night. you did it to yourself... SLUT!" Caleb gets back in his car with no emotion and drives off leaving you stranded. you drop to your knees crying as the rain is drenching your hair and clothes.

you're stranded.

your heart is broken.

and you don't know where to go...

I finish showering and start to pick out an outfit for the party. BZZ BZZ.. I look over to see a text from an unknown number.

My beloved, you looked beautiful today. the sweats and all :) I don't know who this is or who it could be. who is this?  I keep getting ready then my phone buzzes again Your love sweetheart. Wear your green and, blue flower dress tonight. I wanna see my beauty in it once again. Goodbye till I see you. Tears appear on my face as I remember... the only night I wore that I was with Caleb.

It was that night. and no one was around. Is it him?
