Jack told the now prisoner to put the cuffs on and sleep in that bed on the left. He did what Jack asked with no complaints. Jack went to his room. He set the lantern down, licked his fingers and used them to put out the little flame. Jack took off his shoes with his feet and jumped up onto the bed landing in a laid down position. Suddenly the bed felt like it was softer than before. Just after that thought Jack fell asleep. It felt like he had just blinked, but the rising sun hit his eyes causing him to squint. Jack sniffled, he felt terrible. Jack felt very cold shivers going up and down his body. He wrapped himself up in blankets but he still felt cold. He laid in bed for a bit just not wanting to get up. Thoughts rushed through Jack's head keeping him unfocused. Then Jack started to get angry for no reason. Jack felt mad that he existed, mad that he was awake, mad that this stupid burglarer was now in his building and he had to take care of him. It seemed like the anger came out of nowhere. Jack felt desperate like he needed to do something but didn't know what it was. Then he realized he hadn't taken his medication. Well Jack simply couldn't it's not like he could find it anywhere. Jack took multiple medications but the ones that really had the worst effects when not taken, were the Wellbutrin and Intuniv he took.
Jack forced himself to get up. He hadn't changed out of his clothes so he didn't need to get dressed. Instead of feeling like he was doing something productive, Jack stuffed a few pieces of rope and the knife each in one pocket. He was about to do the same with the sack of coins when the idea hit him. How much money did he have? The question seemed to be an important one as it rang through his mind. Only one way to find out Jack thought as he untied the sack and poured the coins on the top of his dresser. The dresser seemed to double as a nightstand because it was next to his bed and was as tall as his waist. Jack sorted the coins. Four coppers, two silvers, three gold, and one holy coin. Jack used his smartphone as a calculator; it seemed like the only function it could serve in this world. The total came to 184 copper coins. Because copper was the lowest denomination of currency Jack had come across so far. Jack scooped the coins back into the pouch. He started to walk down the hallway. The prisoner interrupted him "Hey can you take off these chains for a second they hurt my wrists" Jack was still mad for no reason so his response was pretty aggressive "HELL NO!" The man looked startled by the strong response and asked "why?" Jack's response was "I don't know where the key is yet." The prisoner started to panic. "What do you mean you don't know where the key is? How am I? Hey don't walk away from me" Jack kept walking with a smirk on his face because Jack felt he got revenge for whatever he was angry about which was nothing but a deficiency in chemicals. Jack walked out the door with rope, coins and a knife in his pockets. Jack walked down to the same store the prisoner tried to break into earlier that night. Jack couldn't read the sign but saw a man behind the counter so he entered. "Hey, what do you sell here?" asked Jack in a friendly manner. "Coffee of course! What do you need?" said the man behind the counter. "Do you have anyone else who works here?" asked Jack "No why?" Jack explained "I found a man who was here in the middle of the night trying to get into this store.
When I questioned him he said it was his store." "So he was trying to break in!?!" said the man behind the counter. "I suspect so...I apprehended him so you don't have to worry," said Jack calming the man down. "You must be the new guard! Finally, we have been waiting for you. Didn't you k-" Jack interrupted ''I don't want to talk about it". "You can get a coffee and put as much sugar as you want in it. It's on the house. But the normal price is a copper coin for a coffee with sugar or a copper coin for two coffees without sugar" said the man gladly "Thank you so much" Jack said as his mood perked up because he knew some caffeine would make his mood better. After waiting a few minutes, he grabbed a full mug and a small clay container of sugar. Jack took the cup and sugar with gratitude, sat down, and poured an unhealthy amount of sugar into his coffee like he always did. He thought about how he was going to get rid of the shivers and anger. Jack knew Wellbutrin was a medication that had many uses but one was to stop people from smoking. So in theory, if Wellbutrin gets rid of the withdrawal symptoms of tobacco use, tobacco should get rid of the withdrawal effects of Wellbutrin, thought Jack as he sipped his very sweet coffee.
