FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

HAYES: Richards... having outdated communication methods doesn't mean anything.

MAXINE: You're right, it wouldn't. But Barr also managed to get a voice recording, along with the security footage.

HAYES: Which is where?

MAXINE: On the USB in the file.

Hayes looks through the file and finds the USB. He plugs it into his computer and pulls up the file. A security video of a mall food court pops up and starts playing. Hayes and Maxine watch as TORRES walks up to one of the payphones and dials a number. She waits, looking around, then looks more aware. She listens to the other end of the phone for a few seconds.

TORRES: (in the footage) We have most of what we need. What do we do next?

HAYES: And we are sure that this is a Council agent?

MAXINE: Positive. Bakes ran her through facial recognition and she popped up on our Council watch list.

TORRES: (in the footage) No ma'am. We didn't get everything, but he wasn't giving anything else up.

The video ends, then starts again. The footage plays in a loop.

HAYES: That's it?

MAXINE: The feed cuts out after that. Someone tried to cut out all of it but Barr got his hands on it first.

Hayes sighs and rubs his eyes.

HAYES: Do we have her information?

MAXINE: Not as much as we'd like.

HAYES: Location?

MAXINE: We knew she was at Dover Mall this morning, that's where we received this footage. But we have nothing on her current location.

HAYES: She said "we"... she has at least one partner with her. If they do have Markovetz it sounds like he isn't breaking further than he already has.

MAXINE: Meaning...?

HAYES: They have no use for him anymore.

Hayes stands up.

HAYES: They won't leave the city to deal with him. They're still here. Send out every agent we can to find him. We're not losing one of our own this way.

MAXINE: (nods) Yes sir.

CUT TO:

INT. DEX AND LEE'S LAB - CONTINUOUS

Lee is working on a small device on her desk. With goggles over her eyes, she is crouched down, staring very intently at the device as she lowers a small pen-looking item to it. She presses a button on the side of the pen and a small blue flame appears at the end. She grabs a small piece of metal and presses it against the device. She uses the small pen to weld the two pieces together.

CUT TO:

INT. TECH LEVEL OF THE V.I.U. - CONTINUOUS

HOLT and RASKA are talking while walking towards the stairs. They pass Dex and Lee's lab, then Raska drags Holt back. They look at each other and smile (like children).
