FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

HAYES: (to Maxine) Richards. Woods and Barr said that you have their mission file?

MAXINE: Yes sir.

HAYES: Good. Meet me in my office in fifteen minutes.

MAXINE: Yes sir.

Hayes walks off quickly and Dex turns to Maxine.

DEX: I thought Woods and Barr were on break?

MAXINE: No. Hayes sent them to try and find Markovetz.

DEX: (anxious) He's still missing?

MAXINE: Unfortunately yes. Sorry kid.

DEX: Do we have any leads?

MAXINE: Classified.

DEX: (sad) Really?

MAXINE: (sympathetic) Yeah, I'm sorry Dex, Director's orders.

DEX: Damn.

Dex looks upset. Maxine puts her hand on his shoulder in a comforting way.

MAXINE: I'll let you know when we find something, alright? Don't drive yourself sick worrying about Markovetz, he can handle himself.

DEX: (mutter) I'll try.

MAXINE: Good. You and Lee still up for lunch in the lab?

DEX: If Lee's not dead by then.

Maxine nods and walks off towards the other side of the agency.

CUT TO:

INT. TECH LEVEL OF THE V.I.U. - CONTINUOUS

KAYNE is waiting by the door of Dex and Lee's lab. Lee suddenly jumps down the stairs, but trips and hits the ground. She scrambles to her feet and runs over to the lab door, sliding onto her knees to reach the keypad. She starts typing the pin as fast as she can.

LEE: You didn't miss your flight again, did you?

Lee glances up as Kayne narrows her eyes, which makes Lee flinch.

KAYNE: (sighs) No. I came down here two hours early.

LEE: (very relieved) Oh thank goodness!

KAYNE: (sharply) We should still get done with this in a timely manner.

LEE: (back on edge) Right, right don't worry, I've got everything in one place!

The door to the lab opens and Lee stands up as it does. She jogs inside over to her side as Kayne follows more slowly.

[Lee and Dex's lab isn't the cleanest but it is organized in a way. Lee has the right side of the room, and Dex has the left. Dex's side is the cleaner one, but he does have computers and tablets all over his long desk. Lee's side has spare parts and tools all over the long desk, but there is one clear spot that has a sign that says, "reserved".]

Lee jumps over the reserved spot on her desk and ducks behind it. Kayne looks around, disgusted.
