FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

DEX: No!

Dex gets up and starts towards Bracken, but Lee pulls him back.

LEE: Don't!

Dex struggles but Lee holds on.

LEE: Dex!

Dex stops and looks back at Lee with a heartbroken look. Lee looks sympathetic and understanding.

LEE: I'm sorry... he's gone.

Dex nods and Lee's eyes widen as she sees past him.

LEE: Move!

Lee pushes Dex to the side and the two fall over outside the door. The bullet hits the frame of the door where Dex's head had been.

Dex and Lee look back at the frame from the ground, eyes wide. Dex looks over at Lee.

DEX: (shocked) Did you just...?

LEE: Save your life? Yeah. Now run!

Lee stands up, pulling Dex with her and the two start running towards the stairs. Bracken jogs out of the room just as Lee reaches for the door. He quickly fires his gun at the door and Lee's hand shoots back. Dex turns around quickly as Bracken fires the gun again at Lee and Dex pulls her to the ground. Lee reaches in her backpack and pulls out a small box. She looks up as Bracken prepares to fire the gun again and presses a button on the box.

A wave of energy comes from the box, making an invisible field from where the middle of the box is. Bracken fires his gun again and the bullet stops inches from Lee's eyes. Dex and Lee stare at the bullet in shock for a few moments before it stops rotating and lands in front of Lee.

BRACKEN: What the hell?

DEX: H-how...?

LEE: I-invisible b-bullet proof electrical field. It only lasts for a minute or so, w-we gotta go.

Dex nods and stands up. Lee leaves the box on the ground as he pulls Lee up with him. They both wince as Bracken fires at the two a few more times, but all the bullets stop where the first one did.

As Dex attempts to get the door open, Lee reaches into her bag and pulls out a device that looks like a gun, but has a tube as a barrel. The tube is full of round, half inch pellets.

Lee throws her backpack strap over her shoulder as Torres fires two shots from inside the room. The first bullet stops, but the second one makes it past the field and catches Dex on the side of the arm.

DEX: Bloody-! Gah!

Dex grips the area where the bullet hit him. Lee steps in front of Dex aims the gun at Bracken, pulling the trigger. A pellet shoots out of the gun and hits Bracken on the shoulder. Bracken looks confused for a minute, then the pellet lights up and Bracken grunts as drops to one knee as if he was being electrocuted.
