FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

LEE: You know I was more annoyed that you gave me false hope than I was at you actually winning.

DEX: I'm aware, that's why I did it.

LEE: (growl) Ahhhhhh course you freaking did.

Dex grins as the two stop in front of the elevator and pushes the "G" on the panel.

LEE: I'll give you that game, but I am for sure winning the next one.

DEX: Of course you will. Belief in yourself is very important.

Lee looks over at Dex and the elevator dings and the doors open.

LEE: Don't patronize me.

DEX: Then don't make it so easy to do.

The two get into the elevator and it starts closing.

LEE: Screw you.

DEX: (smiling) Ah, I'm not that desperate.

As the elevator doors close, Lee's face turns into a 'you did not just say that!' while Dex bursts out laughing.

CUT TO:

INT. LOBBY OF THE V.I.U. - DAY

The elevator dings as the doors open, letting Dex and Lee step out of the elevator and walk into the lobby. Agents are walking around and scientists are sitting at computers as Dex and Lee walk by. PÉREZ and MARION are fighting in the training area separated from the lobby by strong glass. As Dex and Lee walk by, Dex waves to Pérez.

DEX: Afternoon, Pérez!

Pérez looks up from fighting Marion, giving Marion time to trip Pérez and pin him to the ground. Marion looks up at Dex, smiling.

MARION: Thanks kid!

PÉREZ: Wha- how is that fair? He distracted me!

LEE: That's your fault, not his.

Marion holds in her laughter as she helps Pérez off of the floor.

PÉREZ: (grumbles) Yeah, yeah.

DEX: You are a senior agent after all, you should always be ready!

Dex and Lee turn away from the training area, laughing as they continue walking towards their office. As they arrive at the door, Lee motions for Dex to go first. Dex rolls his eyes as he walks through the door. He walks behind his desk, opening the bottom right drawer, which is labeled "Poker Winnings". Inside the drawer, are jars of candy. Dex opens the skittles jar and empties the zip lock bag full of the skittles he had just won into the jar.

Lee throws the deck of cards onto her desk and flops into her chair. Dex takes out a cherry blow-pop from the jar of blow-pops and tosses it to Lee. She catches it and unwraps it, popping it in her mouth as she logs onto her laptop and starts looking at blueprints and other science things.
