FM Pilot Script: Part One

Pilot Script Part One (newest draft as of 5/8/21)

Lee attempts to give nothing away from her stare, but her glare falters a bit. She glances down, then looks up and takes another step closer to Bakes.

LEE: At least he wasn't a narcissistic jackass who gets off on bullying other people like someone in the room. How's your head by the way? Your hair grow back okay?

JAIDEN: That was not your best.

Lee subtly waves Jaiden off and she rolls her eyes as she disappears.

BAKES: (cold) At least I'm not dead.

Dex shoots to his feet as his, Lee, and Oliver's eyes widen. Lee looks like she's about to hit Bakes, but is stopped by KELLER talking.

KELLER (O.S.): Fischer? Bakes?

Bakes turns around to see Keller and SHAW standing behind Markus and Archer in the doorway.

SHAW: Is there a problem here?

Archer and Markus turn around in shock. Dex sighs in relief.

DEX: (to himself) Thank the skies above.

OLIVER: Two hours early.

Oliver disappears as Dex grabs his satchel, Lee's backpack, then Lee's arm while heading for the door.

DEX: Nope. We were just leaving. Hope you two had a successful mission, thanks for the relief!

Dex turns the lights off while dragging Lee behind him as he heads for the stairs. Lee and Bakes stare each other down while Archer and Markus are talking with Keller and Shaw. Lee makes an "I'm watching you" movement to Bakes, who scoffs and flips her off. Lee returns the gesture as Dex pulls her up the stairs.

CUT TO:

EXT. SIDEWALK - NIGHT

Dex and Lee walk out of the V.I.U. Lee has her backpack on and Dex has his satchel around his shoulder.

LEE: (angry) That's it, the second Kayne gets back I am taking that explosive and I'm blowing Bakes to hell!

DEX: (tired) Why do you insist on fighting with them? Can't we ever just talk it out?

LEE: We've tried that. It didn't really work.

DEX: Because you did all the talking! Maybe next time, I should be the one talking. I know how to end an argument. All you do is make ways to start one.

Lee turns her head sharply towards Dex.

LEE: What's that supposed to mean?

DEX: You're reckless and you like making things worse.

LEE: I do not!

DEX: Tuesday, April 8th, Freshman year of High School, Mac Whire and Mr. Tobins.

Lee opens her mouth to protest, then closes it as she remembers the incident and looks away.
